The Colossus of Lodis

Your Niftiness, Lords Steward:

It has come to my attention that our unruly upstart neighbors to the East have been willfully insulting our glorious Imperial Republic. Several Anticans holding high office have been heard making absurd claims.

They say that we are descended from water bears, rather than from the gods themselves via the line of M'Jiliad and Kaiser Raynor I. They say we eat fetus soup, when everyone knows the proper way to cook a fetus is in a fondue or, for a lightweight option, a salad. They say we support the desertification of North France to create space for British holidaygoers, when we support the desertification of North France more on general principle. They say we consider Kaikias the Seventh Duchy of Shireroth, when Kaikias is obviously more of the right size for a County (Antica would make a pretty good Duchy, though). And finally, they plot among themselves the conquest of Kildare, which has been firmly Shirerithian since the first maps of the area over three thousand years ago.

We cannot let these rabble, so hopelessly confused that they let every pig and monkey speak before their Assembly, insult us with impunity. At the same time, it is long past time to recognize a great Shirerithian Duke and military leader and a steadfast ally of the Empire, who has been sighted returning to these parts not so long ago.

Therefore, I humbly beg that you authorize the construction of the Colossus of Lodis on the west coast of Melangia, at the point closest to Antican territory. It will be a hundred meter tall bronze statue of Delphi Augustus raising his middle finger towards the Republic of Antica, a fitting tribute to his statesmanship and, I believe, the way he would want to be remembered.

My engineers have designed a model of what the Colossus would look like when complete:

I support this and will order the start of the construction. First I will need the permission of Baron the Wise, but he must agree: it's such a nifty statue. :thumbsup

I agree, only if we can sacrifice a thousand Antican ships to Sakat for daring to consider taking Melangia from the Melangians.

Brookshire is more than willing to chip in to pay for this beautiful statue. Such a worthy cause! :thumbsup

I support the erec--er, construction--of this great statue. Any comments I may or may not have made against Shireroth were either 100% in jest or the result of coercive threats made against me by the Antican CDF, headed by Archon Octaivus. Also, I wouldn't really consider myself a high-ranking Antican anymore, since I no longer have access to the Cabinet forums and never had access to the hidden defense forum. That said, all that stuff said about fetuses and Kildare should be regarded with high disdain, as high-ranking Antican officials did in fact say those things, and they fully mean it when they said them, too.

By the way, just kidding about the threats from the Antican CDF! ;)

Only Canada would build a giant robotic space arm that was incapable of giving anyone the finger.[1][2]

Haha I think it describes the Antican frame of mind.

You have my permission to proceed. The Ocian Prisoners of War which we somehow forgot to repatriate at the end the Amokolian War (administrative error) will be made available for this most laudable public works project.

No - it is of course more subtle than that, it is not merely dumb, it is clever-dumb.

As I said, there's a first for everything. Also, there is no age limit on being an ass.

What the hell is that? A statue of Scott in font of the UN building, shooting fire out of his ass?

The image title is stevenbashi.jpg, so I'd guess it's a reference to Steven.
But frankly, building a gigantic statue of Steven in Antica would be more embarrassing to the Anticans than it would to us :D

I am fairly certain I just crapped myself laughing at how completely awesome this whole idea is.

By the way. What ever happened to Delphi? Has he retired from micronations entirely?

Scott, are you interested in becoming the Imperial Architect? The job would consist out of drawing some pictures of, mainly, buildings within Shirekeep. It looks like Maksym isn't interested, so I will have to make the map myself (or at least a draft version).

No time to do anything official, sorry.
Unofficially, if you have a specific request, inspiration might or might not strike at some point.

This will not stand.
I propose that all funds previously allocated to the Academy go to painting a glorious mural of Malabor BURNING

here's an idea of what I'm going for:
