Decree #26 - Siegebreakers

By the will of Kaiser Aurangzeb, Goldshire shall break the siege on Shirekeep lead by the forces from Brookshire. Nearly the full might of our military strength shall be assembled to march upon Shirekeep at the earliest humanly possible time, leaving only what we must to defend the capital.
The Baron of Ynnraile is also ordered to muster and dispatch his own forces, either under his command or the duchy's at large.
I once again beseech the Duke of Brookshire and the Baron of Dolor and Count of Monty Crisco to halt their unjust rebellion against the throne. There are forces far more sinister at work here and it will further neither of our ends to clash in military combat. However, if you refuse, I am fully ready and capable of using as much force as is necessary to drive you from the Kaiser's city.
May the reign of the true ruler of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, the glorious Kaiser Aurangzeb, be long and prosperous.
By my hand,
Harvey Lekuan
Duke of Goldshire

The Count of Monty Crisco has had the city under siege for some time.

Oh give me a break. Does the Kaiser get all antsy in his pantsy over a couple of pianos?

Ever get hit in the head with a piano? Those suckers hurt!

If you desire, my Lord Duke, I will send my navy upriver and break their supply trains and split their armies by seizing control of the river.

Yeah, you don't have any ships under QUARREL. Or SCIRA.

Not that we use SCIRA anymore ... but he could post an orbat in QUARREL easily enough.

And I'll just bombard any ships from the river bank...

Scott, have you told him about your views on rivers?

Perhaps I'll just close the river mouth and starve all the enemies upriver into submission.

Eh, I strongly advise you not to even step one big toe into the waters. Brookshire and Yardistan are famous for their fleets and even Hyperborea is probably going to show up with some bizarre ice battleship at some point. No thank you!

And we are not all dependent on the river for our well-being.

It will be as you with, Lord Duke.
However one of the very reasons I chose my barony was due to its location. I also deliberately located my capital right at the mouth of the river. My long term goal is to build a powerful navy and dominate the lower river. In the future, expect a indestructible navy.

A city placed at the most strategically important chokepoint in all of Shireroth sounds like an excellent idea...but before getting too excited, ask the Musicans how that plan worked out for them.

1. Musica belongs to Yardisan, hence the mouth of the river is already in our hands.
2. NOT VERY FREAKING WELL, thank you very much.

If you consider the mouth of the river to be only the southern part of the delta.

Doesn't matter, Musica gets blown away every year anyway.

Musica is only at the southwestern edge of the Delta. You essentially can't pass through the Delta without sailing past Mejor however.

Although given the location and the grand scale of the city I'm building there, I would prefer exerting soft power based on culture and trade. I'm aiming for a Paris at the Delta not a Gibraltar. Yet it is necesarry to build a huge fleet to protect my lands, just in case.

I thought Brookshire claimed the delta islands. I think we do... wait... aren't those in my barony...? TO THE MAPS!

Indeed.. it's split almost 50/50. So.. I'll just bomb ships from Alexandretta(county).
