Introducing the Apollo Aurora News Blog

First there was the Apollo Fireball. Then there was the Apollo Skyline. Then there was a whole big huge stretch of really spotty news coverage in our sector, which is a travesty that nobody really got around to correcting. Until now.

http://apolloaurora.livejournal.com/

Aurora Media is pleased to introduce the Apollo Aurora news blog, dedicated to providing the news in our little sector of the hobby. In particular it will focus on news from the Small Commonwealth nations, though major news that makes its way into the big scene will also be covered.

The Apollo Aurora’s motto is timeliness, accuracy, and interest. We strive to provide the news as it happens, with all sides researched and examined, in a variety of areas that should appeal to every micronationalist.

We'll strive for updates several times a week, with editorials and various other articles ready in the case of a slow news day.

The Apollo Aurora and Aurora Media are very interested in partnering with other micronational news organizations. We are also interested in contributions and full-time journalists from nations outside of the Small Commonwealth, which is about as far as my general knowledge of micronational matters extends. And, of course, we gladly accept notifications, editorials, anonymous tips, and any other reason you’d want to contact a media company. Our email address is apolloaurora@livejournal.com , our website office is at http://bill3000.net/nelaga/viewforum.php?f=45 and comments can be left on the articles themselves.

The Apollo Aurora - Timeliness, Accuracy, Interest

Today's article features an interview with Emperor Konrad, the newly crowned Emperor of Natopia and their first change in head of state in their entire history. http://apolloaurora.livejournal.com/

I'll be continuing my Small Commonwealth initial tour, taking an interest piece from each nation until I've hit them all, unless big news erupts in the meantime that deserves coverage.

In what is a good incentive for me to not fall behind on the news, today's lengthy article covers four events - Shireroth's new Kaiser, the resignation of Nelagan President Jonas, the re-establishment of Goldshire as a duchy, and INTERNATIONAL CAPSLOCK DAY.

Since I'm not sure if I have anybody that actually watches the blog, I'll keep posting here when I do updates.

Also keep in mind that I'll gladly run any story or interview if people contact me. The hope is that eventually the Aurora will have the news before it becomes widely known and not always be playing catch-up on things everyone already knows, but that only works if you keep journalists such as yours truly here informed of upcoming events.

I would like you to keep posting updates in this thread, but just to keep Shireroth up to date should you manage to recruit other newsposters and such, the recently added Aurora link in the Malarbar now points at the most recent story (updated hourly).

New articles covering Batavian unrest, the Nelagan Presidential race, and the Small Commonwealth's current status.

Aurora Media would like to thank Jonas Windsor for submitting the Batavia article and also thank Micronations.net for adding the Apollo Aurora to their micronational news blog feeds.

In what is a sad, sad attempt to make me look like I'm doing more work than I am, I will be uploading entries one at a time from now on, mostly to increase the total number of entries I've written as well as make more of my headlines show up in that little MNN news box.

One is up already. Expect another one later today and at least two more tomorrow.

Don't forget that's it's more fun for people to read news they don't know than stuff that already happened! Contact me here via PM or by email at apolloaurora@livejournal.net if you want to coordinate an announcement with an Aurora update.

Another one is coming! :document
I prefer it if you post in several posts, so it looks a bit more filled. :)

The NEVO article is up. I also went through all the older topics and split the joint articles into four separate articles, mostly to make the tag listing more useful but also to make it easier to link to any given story.

Still a couple more articles in the can heading this way soon. Watch the MNN news box!

The tag 'vlaaderen' needs to be 'Vlaanderen'. ;)
