[Petition] ISI Status

Your Niftyness,

I approach you today as the chief executive officer of the ISI. Up to this point the ISI has been laying an infrastructure for its programs in an attempt to create a reliable and extensive base from which to expand its services. What began as an Initiative that was aimed to explore the universe has taken a different path of a more practical and worldly use. The reason I stand befor you now is that I seek the independence of the ISI, or rather that it ceases to be a branch of the Ministry of the Exterior, where it has overstayed its welcome, so that it may continue to expand, unhindered, by all but the law itself. (And Spangle of course.) I hope you will consider letting the ISI continue its development as an organization of its own.

Until then I am but your humble servant,

Under the governments control? Or privately owned?

Privately owned of course. Though as I mentioned in the DSI, many of our project still require Ministry approval to be activated.

I don't quite understand what you were doing under the MiniEx in the first place. All ISI assets currently owned by the MiniEx shall hereby be transferred to the personal ownership of Leo Dine, under the mandate that you continue your good work exploring the universe and get MoMA approval any time you feel like taking on a project that can explode people's heads from orbit or something. Feel free to incorporate it and tell the MiniInt when you're ready to move your offices.

With due respect to my good friend Leo, I must voice my dissaproval for the privatisation of the ISI. This is like America letting NASA quit to become its own company. I understand that this is Leo's baby, and I respect that, but if this becomes his, then he could simply leave Shireroth, and take his company with him (not that he will, as I said, Leo is a great guy). Then Shireroth would have nothing to fall back on. The ISI was the reason we let JASO go. I suppose it's too late now that the kaiser has given his approval, but I don't understand where this is heading.

Again, Leo, no hard feelings.

My apologies I don't think I was too clear.

I simply wish for the ISI to be separate from the Ministry. There is no ulterior motive beyond wanting to have fewer clicks to get to the forum. :p

I think ISI has become a quasi-autonomous non-governmental organisation. Zurvan be merciful... :fish

I'm sure I don't need to repeat the old adage about letting something that you love go free. My decision stands; I expect the ISI to prosper in private hands far more than it ever did under a ministry that had nothing to do with its competencies.

And yes, the mandate still stands. If the MoMA needs something from the ISI, the MoMA gets it. I am sure they will know how to keep the initiative from going too far in the direction of absolute devastation of the entire universe.

JASO of Nelaga would like to state that they find the privatization of the ISI extremely alarming news. Even in the reasonably trustworthy hands of the government of the Imperial Republic, the power of the satellite system proposed by ISI bordered upon the irresponsible. Now freed of government oversight, only the foolish would see it as anything but a threat to our privacy at best and our very lives at worse. If you want to play with fire, that is your game, but do not expect the rest of us to be so content to burn. JASO announces that they will redouble their efforts into countermeasures to protect against the unchecked growth of the ISI, continuing with Project Star Nebula and furthering advances into the AEGIS projection kinetic and energy shield systems. All citizens, public or private, that feel the same about the ISI are encouraged to contribute to this JASO effort in any way they wish.

This message is meant in no way as a threat to the Imperial Republic or her leaders and officers, especially considering the ISI is no longer part of said government. With respect to the Kaiser, some of us do not feel that matters of international safety should be subject to the same liberation as caged love.

The MoMA would like to remind the Kaiser that it would be more appropriate for the directly military applications of ISI to be under direct control of the Imperial Forces.

To be honest I hadn't realized that the ISI had made an impact in any other nations :love . Harvey, the only reason I wished to privatize the ISI was so that I could move to Shirekeep where it would take less clicks to get to. As it stands all projects that have offensive or defensive capabilities are classified as DSI projects, none of which can be activated without government (MoMA to be more precise) approval.

Assuming that ISI doesn't go rogue and attempt to conquer the world with their doomsday device .... :archy
