Paying Homage to the Duke

Greetings, Duke Bukolos! I hope that I find you in nothing but the best of health today.

I am happy to announce that I have succumbed to that which all old school Apollonian-Shirerothians fall to; that is, of course, the desire to return home to the motherland of civilization that is Kildare. As of earlier this evening, I have posted my census declaring myself a citizen of your fair and prosperous barony. I hereby swear allegiance to you as the Duke of Kildare, of authority bound only by that under the Kaiseress. May you live a thousand years!

As a gesture of my loyalty and a tribute to your personage, I have some news that may interest you. Perhaps you are aware of the ASTEX of Airosamente, once the pride of the economic capital of the world? As the legends say, the six grand spires of the ASTEX were auctioned off to pay for particularly damaging repairs and the whereabouts of all but two were lost to time. Well, recent ongoing archeology and salvage digs in old Kajar, formerly of Jasonia and now of Nelaga outside our capital city of Nova Kajar, have uncovered a fairly-intact structure that one of the researchers believes to be one of the four remaining lost ASTEX spires. I am sure your grace has many pressing matters to attend to, but perhaps if we can indeed verify it is one of the spires we could collaborate on how to restore the structure and possibly even bring it home to our own County of Audentior.

In any event, whatever you wish me to do, I am at your disposal, my lord.

If I had proofreaders half as diligent as the bored people on Shireroth, I'd have fixed most of my CoD2 bugs years ago.

I'm not so much bored as know the difference between Duchy and Barony. :p

Mocking the Kaiseress for her language problems? :evil

Jag tycker Andreas kan gå och gräva ner sig i en sandlåda som katterna använder. :p

Welcome to Kildare, Harvey. Your return is a bit surprising. But nevertheless, I'm glad to welcome you! :yay:

The only true motherland is Elwynn cradle of all things interesting and wooly.

But its sleeping right now. Best you not wake it.

Leo, Kildare (or the land where Kildare is now) is in fact the birth place of several (Apollo) nations. That's why we can claim the title of being the motherland of civilization. :document

Relativity is the key when reading most of what I say.
I acknowledge your heritage. All I actually said was the Elwynn was the motherland of all that is interesting and sheepy. Again interest is relative.
Plus motherlands are overrated. A place is what its people make of it.

I was somewhat hoping to hear from the Duke before just moving myself in someplace.

Forgive me for the delay there; the past few days have been a bit distracting for me.

But enough of that! A proper welcome is in order here, I think. I'm glad to see you here; your presence in Kildare is appreciated and, if I may say so, seems to me entirely appropriate. A place rooted in Apollonian heritage could do no better than to have one of its scattered descendants return to it.

By my own admission, I am not a native Kildari, and I have yet much to learn about the Apollonian legacy here. But I do appreciate its impact on this Dutchy and this nation, and on many other nations; and I know what it is to wish to restore some of what has been lost, and recapture ancient glories. I would be delighted, of course, to take part in any possible restoration of the ASTEX; and if you have any other ideas for restoring the historic monuments and cities of Kildare, I encourage you to come forward with them.

Now, as for your county... did you have any particular preference?

Well met, good Duke!

Truthfully, were I able to pick, I would choose the country of Audentior. However it seems that the good Baron Jonas has turned that into somewhat of a seat of his power, so I am not sure how pleased he would be if I were to move in. In that case, New Jasonia would be a fair place to set up shop.
