On the issue of JASO.

JASO was meant to be the space agency for Shireroth when it was revived some time ago, plus we stole it fair and square. Now we have the redundent ISI, which I have tried to get merged into JASO. ANd now MoMA/MiniTrade is trying to auction it off.

1. If the government doesn't want JASO anymore it should be returned to me. Not auctioned off.
2. If auctioned off it should remain in Shireroth hands and not allowed to go into international hands.
3. If foolishly allowed to go into international hands we should retain some control over it in the long run.

Your niftyness,

JASO is obsolete, it has not achieved *that* much, or rather what it might have achieved has in large part been destroyed by time and ezboard crappiness - other organisations (SDI/ISI/HJI) can do just as good a job if not better -and if foreigners want to enrich this country just to get hold of an archaic Jasonian throwback then all the better for us as the profits will be fed into the sort of development work that JASO was meant to do in the first instance.

Perhaps some deal can be reached where Erik gets a cut of the proceeds?

I think I mostly argue that it shouldn't be even up to the MoMA to trade it off. It's not a matter of money for me on this. I worked hard long ago to bring JASO here, and to build it. I rather see it rest in peace then be sold off.

You'll have your memories to cherish then - but in the meantime an auction is in the national interest, will stimulate the economy, foster trade relations with our allies and should proceed.

EDIT: In reference to Erik's post.
Rather than returned to its rightful place as part of Jasonia (or the spiritual successor thereof). Because you know Nelaga is working on developing and redeveloping exciting technology like JASO used to, and having the rights to JASO would be helpful for that. Once we had it, I'm sure we could invite Shirithians to work in it, if interested (just like in the old days).

I assert that I retain control of JASO and the rights to it if the Imperial Government isn't going to use it, and that it's up to me what happens to the organization.

I await the Kaiser.

Privatizing it would not be a bad idea, IMHO.

I'm a Kaiseress, for crying out loud.

I was not around when JASO became Shirerithian, so I cannot say anything about the history of the organisation. What I can and do say is this:

No work has been done in or on JASO for about two years. There is no Shirewiki page on JASO, the forum is there for historical purposes only as far as I can tell. This means that the Imperial government has no interest in retaining JASO and that the auction is a pretty good idea.

As for the second issue, which is Erik's claim to JASO, I say nuh-uh. If we go around and "assert control" over things we do in Shireroth, I could claim Lakhesis for eternity, or Andreas could claim rights to the economy whenever we feel like changing it. My point is that the work we put down in Shireroth ultimately becomes common property, and is therefore handled ultimately by the Imperial government. Therefore, Erik's claim is dismissed.

The MiniTrade and the MoMA have my okeydoke to go ahead with this auction, if they deem it to be in the best interest of Shireroth to do so.

Thankyou, your niftiness.

Erik, if Nelaga win the bidding, you will be most welcome to come back and work with JASO as UEC. :thumbsup We'd just like control of JASO to officially return to Nelaga/Jasonia. We don't want to kick willing Shirithians out. :angel

Your Niftiness rules wisely.

Erik, if JHI wins the election, you are free to sit as Director of JASO and take a seat in JHI's Board of Directors as Representative for JASO. :document

If Nelaga wins the auction, the least we can do is assuring that when Nelaga dies, the organisation is returned to Shireroth.

I'll have a word with Andreas regarding the terms and conditions of the auction.

....I am hereby in rebellion against the Kaiseress, I no longer recognize her right to rule over Shireroth.

If you are so willing to throw away things of historical significance as if they have no worth and are just some commodity to be disposed of, I cannot in good faith support your rule.

ARI FOR KAISER!

Why?

How often to I care enough to take actions? I may complain at times, but rarely do I act. Now I am.

Yes, summon the guards. Teach the Baron of Dolor some manners.

The Steward stands by Kaiseress Anandja I. I heartily disagree with her decision regarding JASO, and I deeply sympathize with Erik, but the Kaiseress is family, after all.

And those rotten Cisco-ians must leave Yardistani soil fortwith!

Erik, you're under the self-important delusion that you're the only person that ever cared about JASO. Gman, myself, and Bill probably did more with it than you did. I fully acknowledge that you founded it, once upon a time. But since then, for close to nine years, you haven't cared two licks about the organization. Since the Amity Land Crisis put it under Shireroth's control it's had its named changed a few times and generally rotted for close to a decade. Everyone here admits that it's dead weight. JASO and Shireroth just don't really mix well together. The only reason you are making a big deal about all this is because you don't like the idea of losing it, but it's not like you have any plans to do anything with the organization. Ever. In that regard, you're acting a lot like Bill used to - someone who thinks that taking the first step on a path towards creating something gives you control over anywhere it goes indefinitely. Not an admirable trait, my friend.

Us Nelegans are pretending to be all crafty posting threads in semisecret forums, but cut through the pretend-spy stuff and the reality is that we have a great desire to use JASO as it was back in the days of old; as a world-building construct to use to play around with technology. We have a great interest in using things of the past to make a more interesting future. I'll admit that, on the whole, the country has some problems, but it's that enthusiasm that helps keep us, and all of micronations, going.

If Nelagan bidders do win control of the organization, then perhaps it will get its first real love this side of the fall of Tymaria. You are, of course, invited to come aboard and join in, if your attitude towards doing such things has changed at all recently.

Ahem! Excuse me, JHI isn't just bidding to have the name on our side and let it rot.
