Since Corey seems adamant about resigning his position, I'm looking for a new steward. As I mentioned on the EBR interview, I'm considering giving it to Jess to get some new blood going, but if someone else wants the job and makes a strong case for why they should have it, I'd be happily open to consideration.

So, anyone?

Majesty -- why don't we follow the recent tradition of the Landsraad electing a steward for the Republic? This would get activity going in the Landsraad as well as making sure that it's actually a steward the nobles could get along with. Jess has just recently been elected to deputy prætor and would require some time and adjustment for that position. Also, he is somewhat, I dare say, outspoken. He wishes to "rage" war against our neighbour to the west. I think that isn't in our interests at the moment to have Lord Yardistan the Imperial Steward of the Republic at this very moment.

I object, Your Niftiness! It's a dangerous new tradition and comes close to... DEMOCRACY!

I support Lord Jess in this case. Everyone deserves a chance, and I don't find the reasons given above are enough to take away his chance.

As Praetor cannot be Kaiser. Deputy Praetor should not be Steward.

I would agree with Erik. While I would not be so presumptuous as to insist that the Landsraad ELECT a Steward, I believe that the Landsraad could vote on a recommendation to the Throne, a la Council of Elira.

Also, I think Jess has quite a lot on his plate at the moment. DP + Duke of Yardistan is quite a lot.

Leo is cool and talented. He has served multiple Dukes well as Steward of Elwynn.

Jess is cool and has waited a long time since he was Secret Steward to Anti-Kaiser Loki II fo about an hour and a half.

Leo is my Baron, but Jess is Jess. Also, a Yardistani in that position will balance any attempt at overreaching on the part of His Niftyness.
