Today is Waitangi day, which is our national holiday

celebrating? Raynor M'JiliadKaiser of Shireroth

The Treaty of Waitangi, lol

You independance day? Raynor M'JiliadKaiser of Shireroth

Infact its more the opposite, The Treaty of Waitangi was signed by the British Crown and many Maori chiefs - it ceeded soverignty over New Zealand to the British and made us part of the Empire. Although the two versions (english and Maori) were slightly different because of bad translation so there debate about if the chiefs actually knew what they were doing.

I doubt they would sign over their soveriegnty... Raynor M'JiliadKaiser of Shireroth

yeah, obviously, but you know, they signed and what happened happenedWaitangi is a day of debate and politics and stuff more than celebration, but we get a public holiday so its all good, lol

Most excellent! Raynor M'JiliadKaiser of Shireroth
