That's what I've been calling it, but it may perhaps be best to discuss this in a separate thread, to not clutter up the auction.

14000 µ, and I hope that was your final offer. I can't believe you found so many people willing to support you in not returning JASO to its original home ... :document

When Erik comes marching home again, hurrah!

We'll have us a big invention-thing, Hurrah!

The Dukes will cheer and the Counts will shout,

The Barons they will all turn out,

And we'll all say "hey" when Erik comes marching home.

In partnership with Provider #2, Star Fleet bids 22,000 Quatloos.

That's nice, but as has been made clear to Livlandia, this auction is being conducted with Small Commonwealth Currency only.

I have made an offer to the Nelagan representative concerning the current bid.

What are the guarantees that people are bidding with real money, and not borrowed or semi-imaginary? (You know, within context)

Why would borrowed money be disallowed? For Christ's sake, the entire macro-world economy is built around loans and mortgages.

I did not know borrowing money was disallowed. I admit, the money that has been pledged to me is not completely under my control, and some of it is tied up in accounts that have not yet been freed up by bank admin, but every penny I've bid I can pay out once made explicitly available to me.

Quatloos are real electromagnetic vibrations, not borrowed ones. But since there is no method of exchanging quatloos for erbs, we reluctantly withdraw from the bidding.

Unless one party or the other would like us to energize the replicators. :surprise

Evidently if they don't have the funds the sale is voided. If they have the funds for the transaction, it goes ahead. If they have the funds but have borrowed beyond their means to obtain them, how they pay back their creditors is their problem.

Obligatory comment along the lines of "working really well". :p

Indeed. Should I win this auction, it will put me in debt better than 12000 :erb , which I intend to pay back in full. This does not mean that the money will not be paid.

Don't worry Kaiseress, I've already mentioned to both major bidders that bidding more than they can actually raise will be considered fraud and will have to be investigated.

On that note, 15000 µ.

I'm curious if there is any maximum amount of time that is allowed to pay the debt in full before the sale is voided? "I'll gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today"-type situations make international banking go-round, but for our little simulations, there is a very finite amount of money available.

Oh, I'd say you should be able to pay by the next time you come online (which, if you're checking the auction every 24 hours which you need to to win it, should be within 24 hours). I can certainly get my hands on more funds than I have bid for N-DOG within that time. I'll want repayment from the Nelagans later, but I can give the funds now.

Unfair. I have these things call sponsors. They (well, some) are holding on to their own funds until they actually need to pay. It helps me better keep track of my debt and saves some time should I not win.

I'd certainly have the ability to pay within a week, though, most likely sooner rather than later.

Unless the Kaiseress orders otherwise, MiniTrade wants the money as soon as possible. Because I'm sure MoMA would like their cut very quickly, for a start.

I can provide a very large portion within 24 hours, probably around 13000-14000 erb. Some other funds are tied up elsewhere, and require a bit of bureaucratic finagling to free.

And of course I get my cut (as per agreements with MiniTrade and the Kaiseress), which shall remain confidential at this time.
