I know the feeling. I tried to keep a lot of Cyberia stuff, but I was propagandizing as much (or more) than I was archiving, and so the record is skewed.
The boards being blasted three or four times didn't help either.

Well the weird thing is that the GA was on ezboard, but it survived! I don't know how.

This may sound like an impudent question, but with the Babkhan reputation for underhanded activities, was any one of you involved in the hacking of our forums a couple of years ago, when we lost so much of our history?

No. I can say without question, No. Babkha has never committed a "hack" attack against anyone. I don't believe we've ever had that ability either. Besides, there was never a time when Babkha disliked Shireroth so much that it would do that, even during the GC days.

I am relieved to hear it, and sorry to have asked a question that implied lack of trust, but I don't know much about intermicronational relations, and I don't know the individual computer capabilities of all parties. That said, I believe the hacker sitill remains at large after all this time. I would love to hear he was serving in the salt mines in Babkha rather than being satisfied about wrecking and shutting down many micronational fora.

Uhh, the ezHack was a little big bigger than that. It affected all of ezboard. (and it's also perfectly possible ezboard was just lying about it and they'd messed up and lost the data themselves

)

You know, Ari, in all this mess, that was one scenario I had not considered.

Not a problem, I don't think anyone in Babkha would be offended by your concern. The time in which the issue occured was a down trend for Shirerotho-Babkhan politics. I've had the fortune of being privy to both sides of the intelligence reported on the issue and the value is that if Babkha did not do it and it was not caused by a mistake, then the culprit is narrowed down to the "other elements" involved.

I don't *really* think they'd do something like that, but then again Vanchau lives in Balgurd for a reason

Even at my most Diga-influenced times, I never thought of Babkha as the hacker-types. They really didn't need to hack computers when they were so good at warping minds.

So true! But let's stop talking about Babkha in the past tense...

So who was better? SAVAK or The Crimson Order/Shaggadan (or whatever)

Babkha has done its job best when a great catastrophy is occuring and the Kingdom's name is not considered.

Speaking of all this, whatever happened six months ago when Babak Shah came back? Was that the real guy? Did he just wander off again? Or was somebody trying to sneak in under his name?

I tend to think the latter... but it was never proven either way.

Yeah we ran him through the "wayward Shah interrogation system" but no dice.
