Even when Erik isn't Kaiser he goes around acting as if he's a Kaiserial regent, as if somehow new Kaisers who aren't of the Ari-Scott-Erik Hegemony aren't mature enough to rule because they haven't been here eight years...
Well, I feel honoured to be part of the hegemony. *does some calculations* I've reigned as Kaiser twice, and by number of days, clearly less than Hesam or Jake (even counting only Loki III). It sure doesn't take a lot of time actually being Kaiser to be part of the eternal succession of boring Kaisers now!
(nor does it take much Californianness to be a part of the Californian clique, btw. Tallinn is the farthest I've ever been abroad.)
Sorry, but that's how I feel. And the amount of thanks I got for all the cultural work I got besides from Andreas, Jake and Corey was zero. I'm sorry if the newbies here are trying to make Shireroth something different from what it was eight years ago, but that's life.
Worldbuilding is weird like that. It almost never receives direct praise. People come to Shireroth to read the latest posts on whatever the current controversy in the community is - Wiki pages with a lot of text on the spring feast traditions of the Kuku-Kuku people pretty much get ignored. Then, sometime maybe weeks or months later, people come to read the wiki when they're bored, or show off Shirithian culture to others.
* thinks *
I wonder if feedback to wiki pages could be encouraged somehow... I mean, the talk pages are there, but at least I rarely read them... but perhaps people could try stuff like opening feedback threads and adding links to them on wiki pages they've written...
(protip: Anyone who wants to continue this discussion, I recommend you start a new thread)
If I ever became Kaiser, I'd have no compulsion in drastically changing the Charter and Lawbook, just to breathe some fresh air into the tedium of Shirereithan bureaucracy. Corey tried to do that and now he's left. Well done.
No, Corey left because he was emo. You should have been there on #micronations when Erik, Scott, Harvey, me and some people I forget were trying to convince him that he's doing a pretty good job as Kaiser (and he was!). It was like he'd taken uncanny dodge except it applied to praise
The We Are Victims Of The Evil OBC argument is not as full of shit as it was five years ago; it's more so. I dare you to find a single case of Scott telling anyone off with anything but a well-reasoned argument, or of me abusing my MiniInt powers for anything but my own or Straylight's benefit (

). Now Erik's Erik, of course: When someone changes things that he doesn't want changed, he gets mad, and when he's mad, he seems intimidating. Maybe people should just learn not to listen to him when he's angry...?

I already
extracted you and Scott from the OBC Hegemony, Ari...
and how do these:
Map of Z
Ethnic and Linguistic Map
Map of Lywind
Yoni Temple Complex guide and map
Brookshire Hamlet Map
Brookshire Hamlet Metro System
constitute the
spring feast traditions of the Kuku-Kuku people
?
I'd like to think the many moons of tedium I spent making those maps counted for more than that...

The Kuku-Kuku people have surprisingly interesting and elaborate spring feast traditions?

In honour of that remarkably valid point, I shall name a station on the Raynor Point metro after the Kuku-Kuku People.

I'm getting better....

DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL SUFFICIENTLY RECOGNIZED, MAX?
No. The entire Malarbox should be a vast picture of me eating your chequebooks. Just to show how much recognition I should strike into your little souls.
What did you think I'd say...
OF COURSE!

The "emotionally draining" part was a
bit more than I expected.

I'm not
totally immune, because in Shireroth one get's yelled at by people worth respecting about things that sort of matter. In my previous life that was......different........
FYI, I'm tenatively going to try to revive Cyberia as a surrealist MN exercise. The FRC has resumed complete independence, and declared neutrality in the Nelaga situation. That and my Ashkenatzan citizenship fills me up cit-wise, so I won't be attempting any major coups in the near future.
Maybe.Probably.perhaps. MWAHAHAHA!!!!!
Your Ashkenatzan? WTF...

Maksym, maybe I didn't tell it enough. But I really appreciate what you are doing. I like your work.

I will admit, in hindsight, I was not as bad of a Kaiser as I perceived myself to be. However, the volume of the complaints combined with my unwillingness to bend and my mildly explosive temperament was not an acceptable combination for a kaisership.
Why I left is an entirely different matter, now.

Under that logic I should never have been Kaiser...

Aye, but that's acceptable for you. You founded Shireroth. I had no problem with being a despot in Toketi because it was mine. But doing the same thing here just seemed...wrong.

I'm pretty sure we've been trying pretty hard to discourage that way of thinking for a LONG time here.

^ This way of thinking, you mean?
That's exactly my point, Scott...

Then this clearly is the wrong place for me, and I was right in leaving.

"Clic of One"...
Scott should use that as the title of a novel.
I would support the idea of a "Kaiser Max" someday. With Jess as Steward and Prodigy as Praetor.
'Taint as essy as it looks, but everyone should get a shot at it.

The first clause basically proves the invalidity of the second.
