Once I see a forum I'll move the money to the crown account.

I'll ask Ari ...

And I've made an executive decision on this. I'm going to only put two regulations on you, and leave the rest to the free market. Other people can start exchanges if they want, as long as they follow these two regulations. (your business is now Approved)

1. Businesses may only offer stocks on a single Exchange.
2. The registered owner of the business must control and own at least 51% of the stocks for the business at all times.

Otherwise, go for it. If you follow my suggestions on dividends would be nice, but I leave it to you and the Market.

I am having problems with combining stock trade with this provision of the LawBook:
XIII-G-1 wrote:They must state who the primary owner of the company is and is limited to one owner.
To me there is a clear cut conflict between selling shares of a company and the law requiring all companies to be owned by one person. I would prefer that the section of the LawBook was amended in some way before we go ahead and break it. If you make a different interpretation, Erik, please tell me and I'll of course submit to that.

That's where rule two comes in. Only one person is the owner ... but other people can have shares in it. If that makes sense. But ownership can't CHANGE ...

But shares are per definition parts of the company, owned by different people. 51% of the stocks is just a controlling majority. And what is the point of buying shares of a company if they don't mean that you own parts of the company?

Well, the Market can decide that ... but I'd suspect it's not owning the company so much as owning parts of the profit.

But shares are parts of the company. I don't see any way around that. It might be me being all literal again. Those words are the only ones bothering me.

Personally, I'm fine with it. We just need to tweak with how WE define stock, and then change the lawbook to make it not a grey area.

I'll move the money now..

THat will proly be useful. Though I tend to not work by formulas. I'm allowing for a real, person generated market.
