Yes, you're right. I didn't meant you want to be mean to him. I'm just a little bit tired and grumphy, maybe I need some rest...Scott of Hyperborea wrote:I don't mean to be mean (like some people in MCS obviously are). From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Let's face it--this whole episode has been hard on all of us. I think we should all step back, take a deep breath, and try to do what will be best for this nation in the long run.

Or, follow the law and recognize Ayreon as the lawful Kaiser and then getting on with our lives.

I need a warrior Steward, one who is not afraid to be unpopular with the "right" people.
As for "heir in the future", don't make me laugh. That is what started this mess. Hasan has screwed up the social fabric. Trust is a rare commodity now.
Besides, my future ends around Labor Day.

Actually, no. He told us this in the beginning of this mess.

True, I apologize. I am turning bitter after being insulted for two weeks when this is supposed to be a game.

Hasan, we both put ourselves in positions easily insulted, and we have insulted one another heavily. Release your guy from his promise to "rule the Empire after", (The Ghost could do that.) Yeild me the throne.
US Labor Day is Sept. 1st. I will step down some time that week (before the 5th.) and go on a very long LOA.
You could revive your economy, in part.
Hey, the story possibilities are great, and the manuevering for power. Will he die? Will Ardy shoot him? Will the ghost of Hasan I scare him to death? Will he be kidnapped by Klingons?

I really don't think you should be treating Kaiser Ayreon as some sort of sock puppet. It is not for Hasan to yield the throne to anyone.

Ric uses his promise to Hasan as his basis to continue. If Hasan releases him from the promise, he would be able to withdraw with honor.
Then if he continues, it won't be hiding behind that promise.
Of course the Gods could come down and release Hasan from his pledge. But the gods are leaving this for mortal man.
Let Hasan clear Hasan's fault, or open the way to that, and thus restore his own honor.

JIacobus--I don't think it is any longer possible to return to square one. The decision is made, lines are drawn, and sides chosen. At this point it seems without merit to continue to fight the new Kaiser's rule. I wish it were not so.

I, as a Baron and as Vice-Duke (officially called the Second in the Dude Chain, or Second Dude) of Yardistan, I support Jacobus. However... I love it.

Paraphrased and condensed:
You've been wronged. We acknowledge that you've been wronged. But it is more important for the wrong to stand, for the lie to be made true, because it is more convienent, and besides the other guy is a good old friend of ours, and the guy that told the lie will not even try to fix it because if he pretends he can't, he'll get his own way, which is much more important than right and wrong.
Besides, you are making too big of a fuss out of being wronged. We are embarassed, so you should shut up and live with it because we are tired of being told the truth and want would rather live quietly with the lie.
And if you don't shut up and accept the wromg and pretend it's OK there will never be another chance to do this to you again.

Re: Will he no come back again......
Whoever would send such a mean-spirited post or PM should be ashamed of himself. (I say him because I'm the only female here, and I didn't send it.) To theaten anyone this way is not honorable. No one who has been through two kaisereal struggles yet maintained gentlemanly behavior needs to be threatened by never getting the throne in the future. It is not okay to accept a lie and let it stand just so things will go smoothly. I am certain none of us wish to destroy another's hopes and dreams; none of us wish to hurt someone legally chosen, either. This is going to take a special resolution, one that is unexpected, but one which everyone will accept as right. I am certain we can put our minds and our efforts together and come up with our new kaiser, one free from taint and suspicion.

I think he meant he was paraphrasing his opinion of the attitude of the entire populace, not a PM or anything.

Re: Will he no come back again......
It is still not good or kind or fair to propse this type of "solution." When someone has had an expectation of this type, and has it taken away, it is not surprising that feelings are hurt, trust is shattered, and hopes live on beyond the expectations of the people. To then be able to turn around and relinquish this dream is the sign of a gentleman and an unusual individual. I trust that Jacobus will be able to rule in the future.
