Hasan, when you issued your last decree, did you actually think that Jacobus would just roll over and take it?

I assumed he'd do what he always does. Rebel, cry blue bloody murder and recieve the support of Jonas and Jess. While everyone else attempts to make a resolution that leaves the country in one piece.

Why couldn't you simply keep your word?
I offered you help. I would have moved heaven and Earth to revive the Kaisership of the Liberator of Gascony.
But you'd rather have the drama, I suppose.......

You also plotted behind my back. An issue you continue to avoid. Don't try to play the moral highground with me. I know what happened.

If you hadn't made that Decree and broke your promises, it wouldn't have been neccesairy to search a resolution.

You are so used to plots and conniving that you asume everyone else does the same thing.
I discussed possible futures after your abdication, which appeared to be rapdily approaching. I had my hand out to you. You chose to ignore that hand.
I extend it again now. Stop this bickering, make pro forma allegiance, and plot against me quietly, as befits a good Babkhan. In September you will be rid of me anyway.

Scott of Hyperborea wrote:I think there's a tradition that needs changing. Namely, the "no foreigner can be Kaiser" tradition.
Kaiser Hasan I and new Kaiser Ric have both been Babkhans who quit their Babkhan citizenship in order to get the throne. I expect that now that Hasan's no longer Kaiser, eventually he'll join Babkha again. That's too easy. The Kaisership of Shireroth is a big enough prize that of course a contender would be willing to temporarily emigrate and then reimmigrate three months later in order to win it. That says nothing about the Kaiser's loyalty. I think Kaiser Hasan WAS loyal, but the next guy to try that stunt might not be.
So, I suggest a new tradition. A Kaiser must not currently be a citizen of a foreign power, and must not have been a citizen of a foreign power for a month or so (the time is flexible) before he becomes Kaiser.
I don't know whether the one-cit rule is a Landsraad Law, a Kaiserial Decree, or a Prophetic Tradition, but whoever's in charge of it should consider changing it.
Otherwise known as the esteemed tradition of "Ardy will Never Be Kaiser"

Why Not?
Let's face it, put a fork in Babkha, its done. Well, almost. Of course Hasan the Most Wonderful Ruler
ahem could certainly go back and restore it to glory in 20 minutes, but he seems to like it here.
We may as well re-name Elwynn
Babkha Nova and enjoy it.
Ardy is one of the most able here. I'm almost tempted to abdicate in his favor.
Almost.
BTW, Hasan, it is considered bad form among gentlemen to act on rumor and

inuendo. Among gentlemen, that is.

It has until September (funnily enough) to not die, but based on present trends...

Babkha is done? Now that's just ridiculous. If total inactivity for vast periods of time was enough to kill off a *really* good micronation, well, we wouldn't be posting here right now.

It makes me sad that all you see about Elwynn is the so called Babkhan element. Elwynn's history is diverse and rich, owning one of the richest cultures of the duchies, and I've tried to, and I know others have, reconcile the different aspects of the culture to something good.
It's not Nova Babkha, it will never be. In Shireroth it's my home. And I am glad for everything I have done there, and for what others have contributed with.

Is there going to be a vote in the Landsraad concerning this dual Kaiser thing or not? Get on with it then. I will respect the vote if we get one.

The Babkhan element in Elwyn has become predominate. Harald seems to have faded. During the War Scotts iceships revived the Hyperborean element.
I was not complaining about the Babkhan influence, merely noting that the mainly Babkhan province of Shireroth has a lot more activity than their "homeland" does, and may very well become their new Homeland. Which is all well and good.

I don't know what you're trying to implicate but it looks bad on you. If you're going to argue atleast argue with some basis. Bringing up the "Babkhan terror" Yet Again is just pathetic.

I'm not arguing Babkhan terror. That is as Dead as Kaiser Hasan I. I'm welcoming immigrants. I'm saying, when and if the place shuts down, bring everybody over here, and welcome.
Yardistan was an independant country, so was Hyperborea, and others I can't recall at the moment. The MCS would go batshit if there was a formal merger, so let's let all of the Babkhans immigrate if they want to, and preserve the culture (or at least part of it).
I liked him better before he died.

Most of Babkha already has citizenship here. If Babkha shut down, it would be the end. Then again, discussions would have to take place as to what exactly to do with it. The last thing Babkha needs is someone claiming to inherit it 5 months after its death who had no knowledge of it. I suppose we could look at a Duchy option, but I don't know. It would be a big decision.

Ari, Ardy, Hasan, I laughed my self silly.
or die quietly and hope Jacobus doesn't notice
At the time I was still suffering from delusions brought on by long associations with Diga (who I think has a balgurdian-like connection in babkhan mythos) so I pretty much ignored the place.
Now to September can be an eternity in Mn's. Or maybe only an Age.

Is that material being archived somewhere?
The Grand Archive was one of your best ideas, Hasan.

The material is held on the Babkhan forums. You can still find Babak's first post in one of the archives. Thanks about the Grand Archive. That was a time before wiki's were prominent and I noticed we were loosing history faster than we could make it. Unfortunately, it was mostly just me entering posts otherwise I could have saved a lot more.
