That's a pretty good start, si quieres estar boracho (if you want to be drunk).

Pretty close--Donde estan mis pantalones? The verb needs to agree with the object. I'm afraid I can't properly type the punctuation. (in Spanish you put the question mark or exclamation point upside down at the beginning to give notice of the type of sentence, and then again at the end.)

Assumed the meaning of the sentence was something like that due to context..

What's funny is, his spoken English is currently better than his Finnish.Ari Rahikkala wrote:Seriously though, the fact remains that English is not my first language and, since I'm no genius with languages (unlike some people in this nation), I make mistakes like that more often than I'd like to... so I actually do really appreciate it when you notify me of them

I don't think Ice is really the right person to evaluate my spoken Finnish. Yes, there was that one... incident... but that doesn't really prove anything, does it?

Look, why not just start a new board simply for foreign language discussions? Finnish, German, Russian, whatever?

'cause there'd be t and I don't think it'd be worth the forum space. :P

I think it's a courtesy to at least try to learn a few words in the language of wherever you are.
I stumbled across a few phrases in the local dialect in Aruba, and got better, faster service than the tourists around me. Especially the ones who are convinced that if you speak English LOUD ENOUGH everyone who doesn't understand is out to get you.
It's a neat language, mixture of Spanish/Netherlandish/French/English. If you speak English, and have a smattering of Romance languages, you won't go hingry, and can even read the local paper.
And Ari's English is superb. Better than mine, anyway. Always has been, based on my recollection.
