But they would still live... and would be back...
We actually only lost about a month due to that hack on ezboard. and EZboard actually handled it pretty well from my recalling of it...

Your Kaiser is correct. There is really no way to win a (non-recwar) micronational war unless the enemy let's you.
There is no way to force a surrender. It either needs to end by fair and honest negotiation, or one side or the other has to loose interest.
The RL consequences of engaging in DNS attacks is not worth anything in micronationry.
That doesn't mean that a military doesn't have value. The FCS "Kenneth K. Thacker" has just come into service with our navy, and it certainly adds well to story lines.
(Meanwhile,
In RL, Russia seems to have launced a RL cyberwar with Estonia )
Warm Regards,
JBSK

Poor Estonia....
There was the idea for a time of creating a simulation to do micronational warefare.. but once again.. required cooperation...

I think for some it becomes a habit, or an obsession, and long after the love for Shireroth has departed, it continues to nag at them, like an itch one must scratch. This doesn't always make for the best input to our forum.

Meh. It gets activity up though.
And make those of us who do post willingly look much better in the eyes of His Niftiness!

Not strictly true, the reason for the validity of micronational warfare is hinted at in that last quoted sentance. If your opponent looses interest and departs the scene you win by default.
To be sure it is not the sort of medium that yields quick and decisive victories, unless you are privy to private information such as where the opponent lives there is no 'kinnetic' solution to a online dispute by, for example, smacking them repeatedly round the head with a baseball bat - indeed there would be certain consequences in the real world that might attach themselves to that sort of action, the same with the more extreme forms of cyber-attack where, unless you have friends in the Kremlin or Beijing, all manner of law enforcement agencies will be most keen to bring you to book.
However if one is talking a long war of attrition then we are once again in the realms of the possible and the licit. If you cannot destroy your enemy outright you must eat away at his morale and his resolve to remain in the game, you must break his will to resist and carry on the struggle - that I believe takes us into the realm of flame wars and Psy Ops, or to put it more plainly bullying.
Accordingly I believe that micronational warfare is not only possible but has been practiced on innumerable occassions.
