Metal kicks, as do some of the older punk (AFI, Ramones) and the proto-punk bands (Velvet Underground, the New York Dolls). Classic rock (Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Who, Cream) are tight, but my favorite type of music is probably post-punk (Joy Division) influenced [indie] rock (Pixies) with electronica and New Wave (The Shins, Pavement) vibes (Interpol, Radiohead, Muse).
