Idea...Instead of paying nobles a salary.. pay Duchies.. a salary.. from which the Duke takes their living expeces, and funds projects and things, which will create jobs, and activity. ALSO.. this money needs to be distributed to the Barons. So large Duchies must work out ways to support their large populations.... and/or numerous Baronies...This adds some connection between politics.. and cash!.. which will keep people IN the economy. Perhaps make getting an account, part of becoming a citizen. lil bonus or something.. Also this set up nice scandels and stuff.hehe Erik Mortis BrookshirePrætor of ShirerothDuke of Brookshire

Ok, we can add some of this idea in easily enough. Right now there is a Nobility Tax. When a Baron pays the tax most of that is given to the Duke who has to give some of it to the Royal Treasury for the Kaiseress. But the rest they keep and it is not taxed as part of their income. We can add an amount that is created from say mining – that is given to the Duchies if the Duke is a part of the economy. I’ll just do this every so often – no set time frame – and it won’t be taxed but the Duke can do whatever with it. If a Duke wants to distribute it to a Baron they can. Maybe as an incentive to get Counts.A Duke might even use the money to entice a Baron away from another Duke or to keep a Baron.I agree with you about adding some connection between politics and cash and using the situations to set up scandals and such. A higher paying Noble gets more money – so maybe there is an incentive to become a higher Noble – which might cause rebellions or other such activities. The Kaiseress might use money to buy loyalty or to reward someone, or even to punish someone. Of course a Duke could use money to bribe someone – when you order money paid to someone from your bank account you don’t have to say why you’re giving them the money.Ministers might “overpay” themselves or use ministry money to bribe someone or maybe to pay off a blackmailer – if anyone even attempts to blackmail someone. Something might take place elsewhere, on AIM or offline or in a different nation that causes a person to be willing to pay blackmail. As Minister of Trade I don’t care what your reasons are for paying people your money.A business might attempt to lure away someone from a business with higher wages, remember a person can work for only two businesses at any given time.So yeah, use your money to set up any sort of thing you can dream up – I don’t care if you buy and sell votes in the Landsaard. You might get convicted if caught – but that’s for the legal side of this nation, not for me as Minister of Trade. Just don’t tell me why you’re paying someone – it’s none of my business.Austi ScotMinister of Trade
