Stipe's fact of the day

The only thing worse than being called a jackass is not being called a jackass.

I'm sorry, Tahmaseb. You know I love you, but that didn't make any sense to me. SF-SN

Well, the paper clips are bound to invade corn fields anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Interesting. And how do you feel about that? There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Crappy25/08/05The problem with women: When you're going to see several awesome bands on Gigantour for free, but the girl who has the connection that is getting you into the place spends almost two hours getting her hair done, so you miss half of the bands you wanted to see (and all of the ones you've never seen before) SF-SN

Re: Stipe's fact of the day
Ozujsko is pretty nice, although I probably prefer Karlovacko. They're both pretty standard cheap central european lagers, but they're far superior to their equivalents in the United States.Osjecko on the other hand is really good. It's more like a Czech pilsner, but I've only seen it in the Osijek area unfortunately. I've also heard that Staro Cesko is a great lager. Just about any beer in Croatia from Medvedgrad Pivovara is supposed to be fantastic too. SF-SNEdited by: Stjepan Veliki at: 8/25/05 17:55

Lets see... 1848 was the year the woman's movement to vote started, right? *thinks back* There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.
Re: Stipe's fact of the day
I dunno about that, but 1848 was more famously the year in which a number of movements and rebellions erupted across Europe, which tended to have a nationalistic and reformist flavor. They were put down rather quickly, which I guess is what the reference to 1849 is about.

Re: Stipe's fact of the day
That and 1849 was when the Gold Rush started in California. Sure, gold was found in 1848, but the slackers from the East Coast actually took a few more months to get there. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Re: Stipe's fact of the day
Shyriath is correct. 1848 was the year that most of Europe was rocked by a wave of liberal nationalist revolts and revolutions which streched from France to Poland. 1849 is the year by which the last of these, namely Hungary's attempt at regaining its independence, were crushed. It's often referred to as the Spring Time of the Nations, and was generally an exciting moment. Re: Stipe's fact of the day
Sooooo not true. Are you entirely forgetting the fact that the Spanish and natives were both here before the Americans ever got here, and lots of Asian immigrants came for gold as well. That's the answer you get when you take into account that I've taken California history in college. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Re: Stipe's fact of the day
You have me on the asian part and the natives, but as far as the spanish are concerned, I have you there. Now give me props for nitpicking or else! *shakes fist* There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

30/08/05Once on an internet forum, I and several cohorts freaked people out by creating a suicide cult that venerated the slavic god of fire and virility, who goes by the utterly awesome name Svarog. Seriously, say it out loud now. It's just amazingly cool. Basically, we posted a lot of really elaborate shit that culminated in "Kill Yourself For Svarog". We made some uber-catholic Polish chick upset. SF-SNEdited by: Stjepan Veliki at: 8/29/05 21:34
