Re: Stuff
Final questions and such:Foghorn, what train/bus/thing should we take from New York to New Rochelle? How far are you from the train/bus/thing station, and how are we going to cover that distance? For that matter, where do you live? And how late do the train/bus/things run in case we can't find lodgings in New Rochelle and need to return to NYC?Bill, give us the exact times you will be at this Digital Life thing and a cellphone number at which we can reach you. I don't know that we will all want to pay the admission fee, so it may end up with us having dinner with your family somewhere nearby (actually, lunch before would be preferable).Charles, I don't know for sure what we're going to be doing then. It depends a lot on where we can spend the night Saturday and how things with Bill work out.Who actually is going to be at the hostel Friday night other than me? Gryphon? We do need someone with a cell phone.

Javits Center is only a short bus trip (probably even a manageable walk) from the station I'll be leaving from on Sunday night, so for someone who otherwise couldn't navigate his way out of a paper bag, it would be very convenient.

Re: New York Convention: Final Information
Train schedule: as0.mta.info/mnr/schedule...d_form.cfmI live in New Rochelle. The station is literally in the middle of town. I'll probaby drive over early that morning, leave my car at the station, and take the train into the city to meet up with y'all Saturday. The train is usually a 45 minute ride, and the station is 2.5 miles from my house. ________________It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.-Andrew Jackson

Re: New York Convention: Final Information
After talking to Bill, we will probably be meeting him around noon on Sunday in New York near (but not necessarily in) the Jarvits Center. If we do manage to stay in New Rochelle, then probably we'll just go straight from the train station in NYC to meeting him. If not, we'll figure something out to do with that morning.Remember, if the original hostel is full, we are STILL GOING TO MEET IN THE LOBBY AT MIDNIGHT. That way we can all get together and THEN we can figure out where we're going to stay instead.

I only have a very low-quality (but nevertheless nifty) camera, so someone else might want to bring theirs.

Stuff
Last minute news:Gryphon and I are probably the ONLY two people who will be making it to the hostel tonight. This means Gryphon is our official cell phone relay point. Anyone who has just arrived and wants to know where we are should call Gryphon to ask.Harvey says he isn't coming. Stjepan says he MIGHT be able to make it for a while on Saturday. Rakesh said he would come a month ago but hasn't been by since, so my guess is he forgot. If any of you see Rakesh around or have any way of contacting him, drag him to this thread and make sure he reads it.The only people who will be there pretty much the whole time are, afaik, me, Gryphon, and Shyriath. Maybe Steven the Antican too, depending on circumstances. dStryker and Stjepan(?) will be just Saturday, Ras Charles and Bill will be just Sunday. Foghorn will be Saturday night and maybe Sunday. If you are confused or separated, call Gryphon. If, gods forbid, Gryphon's cell phone breaks or something, Steven is our new cell phone relay point; call him.I'll be seeing you all soon. Bring interesting stuff like flags, tshirts, YAC labels (if you can make them) and random things to show off.
Re: New York Convention: Final Information
I have a disposable camera that I'll be bringing in any case... but I MIGHT also be able to bring along some slightly more impressive equipment. I shan't say more, no point getting hopes up till I'm sure I can bring it along.

ATTENTION: I have a flag, but not a flagpole. If any of you have a pole-like object, such as a pole, please do bring it. One of those big sticks you put in windows to keep them closed would be perfect.

Re: New York Convention: Final Information
Well, I have two midterms and my 21st birthday coming up this week, so I'll be studying like crazy this weekend...At least, thankfully, the midterms are on the two days before my birthday, so on Thursday I can actually go out and get my free drink or three. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Sorry Scott, but the likelihood of me showing up anytime tomorrow is quite minimal, close to nonexistant. I just don't see how I'm going to be feeling well enough to travel any significant distance by tomorrow. SF-SN

So you guys went to the UN, found out that you couldn't picket, but that you actually could get recongition, and you didn't do it anyway? Re: Stuff
According to Joe, no one was there on a weekend, and they were redirected to an online form that doesn't exist.Although he's got a one way ticket there, so he can stay until Monday and fill out forms. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...
