Windows 2000 was an inbetween NT and XP O/S and ME was an inbetween 98SE and XP O/S, wasn't it? I, honestly, never used either of them very much. "Disce quasi semper victurus; vive quasi cras moriturus"

Microsoft will survive...and prosper again, unless the United States Government catches it (Microsoft) doing its (Microsoft's) thing again, then brings it to court again, then pulls the bit it (the Government) pulled on Standard Oil (like they wanted to in the first place). And with san administration as friendly to big business as the current one in the White House, well, I guess that would be stepping into politics...

Quote:Windows 2000 was an inbetween NT and XP O/SArchitecturally, andQuote:and ME was an inbetween 98SE and XP O/S, wasn't it?... interfacely. Windows 95, 98 and ME are one series of systems not designed for true multi-user operation. They don't support any filesystems with any actual security (in the Windows world, this basically means NTFS), they've got lots of arbitrary limits that make scalability go... well, I don't want to say where, and... considering how hard it seems to be to find actual, useful, specific information on their design online, it must be something really murky .The Windows NT series (in version numbers, Windows NT is NT 4, Windows 2000 is NT 5, Windows XP is NT 5.1 or NT 5.11 and Windows server 2003 is NT 5.2) is based on a modified microkernel, is capable of true multi-user operation, supports a modern, relatively well-designed filesystem (that's NTFS, yes), is very scalable (the Datacenter editions of Windows 2000 and 2003 beat most UNIXen in TPC-C benchmarks), and just search for "'windows nt' microkernel" and look at the first two results... Do you really believe Project Bluebook revealed EVERYTHING the Army Air Corps knew? Do you know what REALLY happened at Roswell, New Mexico in the late 1940s? Have you even heard about the Men in Black? Do you have any friends who have `missing days'? Do you sleep with your window unlocked?Be seeing you...
