You know I think you're doing a great job.

Is not the pleasure of writing a story the joy seeing a world come alive? Is loyalty to this country so hollow that people only work for the betterment of the country after they have been rewarded? I would have seen little doubt that the Kaiseress (or her successor, depending on how long it takes) would have been pleased enough to support such a merge upon completion of the epic, but to come in here and demand such a merge occur as a requirement for finishing the story smacks of both blackmail and a lack of respect for one's own work.

Don't get me wrong, but owning the place is the only thing that assures you that your work hasn't been done for nothing (e.g.: you write a nice story for county X, because it's just an empty place. Afterwards, someone gets the county in hands and decides to just ignore your work. The time you spent at writing the story could have been better invested in a place that you own yourself, or is part of your House, so people can more easily persuade each other).

Why should someone get the county after you? Unless you leave Shireroth, and then I really think that you have no say in what happens with the county.

I'm talking about the second county, the one which Ryan would like to see merged, Your Niftiness.

But he doesn't need to hold it to write a story about it. And I will not be blackmailed either. The Mar Saran board contains 16 threads, of which two were started by Ryan, and the newest of them almost two years ago. The Shirewiki entry on Mar Sara has never been edited by Ryan. I am not going to grant counties to people just because they are writing a story about said county in another county.

Yeah, but without benkern, he shows more interest that anyone else.
I want to play with that toy! Please, Please!
You're not interested in it enough.
But nobody else wants to play with it!
But they might someday, so you can't have it!

Then you give it to them. the play with it for 1 minute and then won't let anyone else play with it for 4 years. That's the other side of your argument Jake.

And there was me thinking the inherent infantilism didn't have to be explicitly stated. How wrong I was.

My request has nothing to do with retaining the county, preventing others from contributing to it, or anything besides this simple train-of-thought: If it's not mine, then it's not my business to impose my will upon it. And that's exactly what I'm doing by virtue of the story I've been writing. Take it away, and I have no business being there.
As I said, the whole point of having a land called The Saran Isles is because it contains two counties that include 'Sara' in their name. I let Greg keep So-Sara so that he could keep MASS intact. So no, I'm not being greedy. It's that you're essentially shattering the basic cultural component of my state. This is further compounded by the ongoing story.
Excuse me for having a life outside of the hobby. I'd forgotten pixels are held in higher regard than people.

The pixels aren't higher than the you because they don't stop you from doing anything you want regarding your story. It's YOU that's putting them higher than yourself by refusing to do the story unless you get them.

Yet both of you are avoiding the point that if it's not mine, then it's not my business to mess with it. It's like slapping up a big "NO TRESPASSING" sign on a public park.

So it's impossible for me to write any fiction about Hyperborae? A story about Antica is totally off limits? To create a Babkhan character is unthinkable?
Come on man.

That would be a point, if there were a shortage of toys. And some of these toys actually belonged to the kids.

Really? I took Western Absentia which you had done nothing with, but then I gave you Old Hallucination instead. More traditional, more developed, contiguous. Yet still you complain. Cimmeria had not been touched by Harald. I had done nothing with Amarr, Icebreaker nothing with Discontinuity (thanks to the House system he's getting it back tho).
When the only thing I can give you that would satisfy you is something I won't give, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that hassling me won't change my mind. Rather the opposite actually.

Need I point out that Corey is working with a County he's not been assigned. And due to working on it, and it not being assigned, he will likely gain control of it shortly.

He was assigned Asantelian before joining Kildare.
