His Niftiness isn't missing, it's just that sometimes I need to yell at him for a while to get him to post :kiwi

(speaking of which, I'll probably start spending a while offline from right about now on this summer, so we won't be able to depend on me petitioning him whenever there's an emergency the Kaiser needs to handle (incidentally, this thread isn't one). So, uh, yeah. Expect to have a lot of fun as Steward, Leo :p)

I knew he was a bloody mistake from the beginning. I poked him last night when I was bored and he still didn't do a damn thing.

I was moreso referring to the choice of the Landsraad I'll change it if it bugs you too much.

And I will Ari. That is if I am able to stay alive that long with Jacobus plotting away.

C - Therefore, unless Erasmas is found, Leo Rules as Steward.

Admittedly, it's a clumbsy solution, but it is backed by law, history and custom.

All Hail LEO, Ruler of Shireroth!
There is a difference between Ruling as Steward and being a Ruling Steward. :D The Mango Throne is occupied, although by a shadow but nevertheless occupied, so the Steward may sit on the arm rest and rule. The only limitation placed on a Steward while the Mango Throne is occupied by a Kaiser is that he may not amend or repeal any decrees made by the Kaiser, which isn't hard now since Erasmas hasn't made any decrees. If the Kaiser is forced, pushed or gently prodded off the Mango Throne, Leo could become a Ruling Steward if no new Kaiser was found since Erasmas hasn't appointed an heir.

Also, the Steward is more than welcome to contact me in private if he needs any legal advice.

If you look at what Ari wrote, Erasmas isn't missing. He's recovering from his Kaiserial Inauguration party. Neither way does that make Leo Ruling Steward.

Pretty much what Mike Fors said. Yeah.

Just as a little reminder, here's an excerpt from:smashy :
The DecreeBook wrote:6: Kaiserial Absence

a. If the Kaiser is absent for over a month, with absence being defined as failure to post to Shireroth or answer any queries, such as email, telephone, or IM about zir status, and has not declared a reason for zir absence such as LOA or vacation, the Kaiser is officially declared dead by Shirerithian law, and the succession process shall take place in the same manner as if the Kaiser had officially abdicated.
Which is...
The DecreeBook wrote:2: Line of Succession

1. Erik of Brookshire
2. Nick of Yardistan

Agni II?

If all 6 people in the Line say no, THEN Leo can be Kaiser. Oh Gods... :tomcutterhamonfire

Only if the sheeplets all drop out of the sky from a sudden bout of foot & mouth, never to be heard of or spoken again - honestly, they make the moogles seem dark and edgy in comparison.

So, the Kaiser who never really wanted to be Kaiser wants to be Kaiser again?

A month was really too long. We should have made it a week. Having no leadership because the Kaiser's not interested enough to show up is no fun at all.

I look back on that Kaisership and see only my own mistakes. I've learned from them and I feel I could effectively take the throne again. And honestly, I'd rather not burden others who are as unprepared as I was with the throne.

Y'know, looking at the Line of Succession as written in the current Decreebook on the wiki, it seems to me that that must have come from a very, very old version. I vaguely remember when it was at that point, and I also remember it being updated at least once afterward (I remember that well, because at one point I was added to it).

At some point, presumably after our Kaiser returns to duty, someone might want to come up with a new succession, on the grounds that about half the people in the current one haven't been around in something like an eternity. (Not that I know of, anyway, since logins change after every time I'm away.)

But it does leave more room for plots and backstabbing...

By the power invested in me by the throne and all that, I accept Leo as Steward.
