A Prime-Minister? Perhaps?

Post by Kaiser Letifer III »

I know it come up before.. and in the past.. was violently repressed.. I know.. I helped repress it.. But that was generally due to it being set up as an elected position with power...

I was thinking.. that it might be nice to have someone who was in charge of the ministers, who had authority to do anything they could all do... and not be the Kaiser..

perhaps give these powers to the Steward, more openly and actively.. right now the Steward has all the powers of the Kaiser... more or less.. but really only is useful when the Kaiser isn't around.

I'm thinking.. Prime-Minister has the power to speak and propose bills in the Landsraad, based solely on the merit of that office. (ie, they don't need be a noble.. but can be..).. and act as the representative of the Ministers in the Landsraad.

They of course can still go to the front gate, and be summed individually.

Actaully.. I got a better idea..

Council of Ministers. Not really a second legislature.. but more a place where the ministers can all come together and talk, free of others.. like the Landsraad can. the Prime-Minister would just be the Prætor of the Council of Ministers.

The Council may draft bills to send to the Landsraad, where the Prime-Minister can put them forth for vote. This would give more avenues for things to get done, though still would bottleneck in the Landsraad. Would create another job, but one that isn't vital to the overall functioning of the nation if not filled.

What you all think?

Prime-Minister and a Council of Ministers? Or Ministerial Council.. or.. some other fun name we can think of for either?

OMG!!!!!1!on3

A person, with ACTUAL POWER, elected by people who are not necessarily NOBILITY?! And who could speak in the LANDSRAAD? Surely not...but no, it couldn't be....?!

Why?

In the past, it would've been a great idea, but now we have so few people that we can't even fill the useful jobs.

Not only that, Braden, it's -

RED FONT COLOURED DEMOCRACY!

Which makes it infinitely worse. Damn Commie and Centralist fiends!

Scott definately has a point. Quite amusingly, exactly this problem is found in smaller micronations, perhaps those of but a few months of age, in which there are a buncha high-ranked dudes - PM, King, maybe a Prince - then no commoners, no Ministers, no... lower ranked Kings... *ahem* anyway, you get my point. Perhaps, to put it bluntly, those in Shireroth that don't have jobs and wouldn't mind having a job should take up a Ministry, then if at least a few are thriving, a PM would be appropriate?

i think a prime ministrer would be great . . . if! we had more constantly active citizenry.

perhaps we could assign the PM powers to an office already in exsistance, perhaps the Preator? seeing as it is a moderatory position i think the office could handle it. maybe rename it.

but as it is the ministries arent full, barons and dukes are intermitent, and not all the counties that should be inhabited ARE inhabited (im just as guilty, i admit it)

so making NEW offices might be presumptuous, but putting the role into effect sounds like a good idea.

I know it can't be filled right now. THus the fact that it's not a required position, it's just... there..

Maybe make the Steward a sort of Prime-Minister.

I'm just thinking of things we could create for late dates. And things that might be fun to have.

That reminds me... I need a Steward...

Eriana--

We are actually in the middle of taking a census right now. Please enter your information in the Big Brother Census thread.

That goes for everyone else as well, please.

Thank you for your cooperation. This will allow the Kaiser to know just how many active citizens are in Shireroth, as well as good friends and tourists, if they choose to register their presence,

Late to the party, but since this wasnt closed, i'll throw my 2 cents in.

No.

Last thing we need is more government positions. We dont have a problem with this at all, imho. We just need nobles to be active in the Landsraad. Solve that problem, and it's all good.
