Clarification Requested

I have several questions in regards to the situation Lac Glacei is now in that I would like answered before I take any further steps with the Grand Duchy.1. Cognito - It was a question raised by Jake, and with good reason. Cognito and Lac Glacei are historically tied and it wasn't discussed in the new treaty. I assume it is still attached. Or am I mistaken?2. Defense - In regards to the defense pact with Shireroth. What are the exact terms of this? Say, for instance, Lac Glacei annexes something and starts a war. I assume Shireroth would'nt be obliged to defend us in such a situation. Am I correct?3. Expansionism - Again, regarding annexations, let us say for instance that Lac Glacei annexes Alexandria (a far fetched example, but just let the hypothesis roll here for a minute...). Would such a scenario be allowed by the Centerflying Treaty or not?Before I put myself in a bad situation again and get blamed for "conspiracy", I figured I had better ask. In the case of the other two, let us leave it at the following: if the Imperial Throne agrees with your actions, then we will either act in your defense or as your assistance. If we do not, then you are shit out of luck and on your own.

I don't quite understand where you're coming from, Greg. But since I intend to focus on Lac Glacei instead of starting a new project, I want to see how much freedom I have to do as I wish with it.I can say quite assuredly right now, that in the event of war, I shall not require the defense of Shireroth. If there is one thing I have a great accumulation of, it's micronational forum weaponry. Never have I asked for the help of anyone, nor will I.That's not the point however. Let me try and restate the questions a little.Annexation was a bit of an extreme statement. But let me make it clear that I intend to fold several of my projects into Lac Glacei, thus reducing my "spread" across the microworld, so to speak, and instead focusing my efforts on a single area. The Jardinais idea, for instance, being French, I want to make a Marquisate within Lac Glacei. If that's going to be a problem, I want to know now, not later.I want to know how much freedom I have in regards to foreign policy. The treaty states clearly about nations with which Shireroth has established diplomatic ties. But what about the ones which it hasn't? I used to be in regular contact with communities like Pasargada and Leblandia, both of which I don't think Shireroth is aware/in contact of, and which I will most likely pursue a renewed relationship with. I don't want to wait for Shireroth to establish relations with a micronation before I'm allowed to do so. Of course, I may not have a choice if that indeed is the case. Let me put it in other terms then: as a protectorate, you are free to do pretty much as you will as long as you remain loyal to the Imperial Throne. That includes performing your own foreign affairs, though I'd certainly be appreciative if you passed along good allies to us.EDIT: I am perfectly aware that the treaty specifically implies that you may not perform your own foreign affairs; however, there is nothing in the treaty that states you may not perform foreign affairs in conjunction with the Ministry of the Exterior. Hence why the most recent honours bestowed named Jacobus as Imperator Rex Emeritus, while the Shirerithian throne retains the full title of Imperator.And, indeed again, I'd be quite happy to forward a list of respectable micronations to Shireroth. Scott can vouch for my tenure as foreign minister for Hyperborea. I'll just mandate it upon myself to maintain a list of ongoing relations for Lac Glacei at the Shirerithian state ministry.
