The Sculpting of a New God

Post by Nathan of Natopia »

Nathan, recently recalled to Shireroth as the new duke of Elwynn, was sitting in a chilled room in the basement of the Temple. He had butter dripping from his face and hair. Sculpting tools in his hands, a frenzied look in his eyes -- the spark of the Butter Spirit giving him divine inspiration. Never before had he sculpting in the medium of butter, or even sculpted on this scale. Yet the massive lump of butter was beginning to take the form of a bull. The Butter Spirit seemed to take hold of his hands and guide him in sculpting the two long, pointed horns. This new incarnation of the Butter Spirit was more menacing than the Butter Cows mentioned in the Book of Doctrine.

Nathan was the prophet of the Butter Cow and had felt the possession of the Spirit before. But this new possession was more sinister, hungry, violent. It filled him with a fear he had never felt before. Yet he was still compelled to sculpt. Sculpt this... monster.

A few hours passed and finally the form was complete. At least Nathan thought so because the weight of the Butter Spirit left him. But the impending fear did not. Nothing in the books and sacred letters said anything about how the Spirit possessed a butter form. Nothing was said to him either. The form of the butter bull was finished and Nathan stared at it. Nothing happened. He prayed a desperate plea to the Butter Spirit for peace and mercy on Micras. He turned down the temperature in the chilled room and left.
