Also, I love pop culture:
* wraith greets Corra by tossing a shiny golden apple into the channel.
< Corra> hi wraith. ^_^
* Corra goes to grab it!
* ari fights Corra for the apple!
* Corra fights ari! She wants hte apple!
* ErikMesoy grapples ari and pulls him away!
* Corra reaches out to obtain a golden apple!
* raekuul snatches the apple
* ari kicks raekuul in the face and graps the apple!
* ErikMesoy slaps wraith for starting this!
* Corra stomps on ari's foot and snatches the apple!
* raekuul hugs Corra, causing her to drop the apple

All's well that ends well.
Vilhelm von Benkern - The Dolphin-...Count
:: Formerly just "benkern"
:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent
It takes moo to mango!

There is plenty time for this, and yet I am still not officially recognized as Count of Blavatsky...

Re: I approve of this development
Well, simply translated, it means: "Today is the last Sunday of the liturgical year. This is a cathedral. And I am the dean!"
Thing is that, well...
- the last weeks of the liturgical year tend to have something of an eschatological theme, and the Finnish Lutherans took that theme seriously
- someone flubbed the translation of the Swedish "domkyrka", where the "dom" part comes from the Latin "domus" which means "home" (so, "home church")
- said flubbed translation has also infected other Finnish church-related vocabulary, for instance the word for dean, or the vicar (head priest) of a cathedral (head church of a diocese). (it's separate from the bishop - the bishop's the chairman of a chapter, the dean the vice-chairman)
Putting all that together, and looking inside the compound words, the word-by-word translation is...
"Today is Doomsunday.
This is a Doomchurch!
AND I AM THE DOOMPROVOST!"

No, you should see Ari when he's ACTUALLY drunk. This thread, on the other hand, is quite normal!

I think I'll just declare myself Count of Blavatsky in Ari's stead and find some way to get meself a forum...This seems like the best course of action at the moment...

That sounds good. He already created a forum for a new country(?), division(?). Why not for you? You've certainly waited long and patienrly enough.

Re: I approve of this development
Given Blavatsky's backstory as a land where the normal rules of space and logic do not apply, I think it'd be cool if the subforum for Blavatsky just sort of appeared in the Ministry of Trade or somewhere one day.

Sounds fun to me ...
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Re: I approve of this development
It's at the bottom of the Shireroth forum, below Straylight. But Ari is planning to archive it in a few days and it will need to stand or fall on its own in its own place on the web.

Maraguo? This place is completely unfamiliar to me, and is not mine...I believe it is under the rule of Jacobus and is a product of the war...

Re: I approve of this development
This is a Batavian/'Shirerithian creation, mostly under Jonas and the others from Batavia, echoing their respect for Shireroth, and their ambition to create a Shireroth-like country that is Dutch/English language with a similar feel to Shireroth. A number of Shirerithians are interested in helping to get it off the ground.

To return to the original topic: http://www.boingboing.net/2009/04/17/go ... -glas.html
And to furthermore mention something of vaguely general Straylightian contextual interest: http://www.viceland.com/wp/2009/04/batt ... etropolis/

Re: I approve of this development
So, "domprost" becomes "tuomiorovasti" in Finnish? I love it when you borrow words! "Strand" > "ranta" is another favorite.
