Dwarf Fortress
It turns out that, instead of participating in the War of the Sightseers - or, in fact any Shirithian matters - yesterday and today, I've been doing something more productive... such as learning to classify rocks by name into igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary layers, and practising medieval methods of steelmaking, and finding out which metals go into which alloys, and... oh, yes. I've just spent two hours looking for a site for my next fortress. Do yourself a favour, do not download this game.

Re: Dwarf Fortress
< Proteus> I got hooked on DF very fast. I went from 0 interest noob to 100% committed when I started a Fort today and I saw two of my dogs go after a bear and the bear killed them both. Then I sent the dwarves to attack it and two of them became crippled while killing it. They later vomited all over and were swarmed with flies. Then they died. It was great.
I don't see why people complain about Dwarf Fortress's lack of graphics. Try and find me a more graphical game. Go ahead, try.
