Although, I'm still quite surprised I was made emissary for Straylight. You and I often have differing opinions...

Because, Liam, I am an Apollonian, and I guess I've never really changed since the Apollo times. I always tried not to get emotionally attached to this place because it had been the right thing to do back in 2000... I guess I finally lapsed during the Great Consolidation when there was this awesome spirit of rebuilding the nation together. I got attached. Started to think Shirithian matters are my personal matters. And now, with people like Hasan and Jake around to whom playing a (not always very agreeable) personality seems natural, and with my own inability to keep distance... by Ugh, I'm feeling like Bill .

So... yeah. When you feel like that, the best thing to do is to get out of politics... though it seems now that just getting out of the Landsraad won't be enough .

Besides, you were entitled to *something* as a loyal Straylightian. (remember, in Straylight, loyalty has little to do with agreeing on anything with your duke) Other duchies have been building nifty local governments - with only the two of us currently active here right now there wouldn't have been much of a point in that... so, hey, letting you handle the Landsraad for now seems like a good idea.

And besides that, whatever your own feelings might be, I don't really expect loyalty from Straylightians, because... loyalty isn't in our culture . Giving you the vote gives you a reason to stay in Straylight
