Why did the workers at the mint go on strike?

Post by Yvain Wintersong »

They wanted to make less money!
Come on! Laugh! It's a joke!

Okay, fine. Be that way. But I am starting to sympathize with them, because I have been spending the past week making banknotes for our fine nation.

Each note honors one of the five Duchies. Sometimes I consulted with the Duchy involved about proper symbols, other times when I couldn't find anyone to talk to I didn't. I hope there's nothing inappropriate or unrepresentative on any of them.

I would like to someday have these printed out, with both sides properly aligned, on banknote-appropriate paper, but I don't know how to do that. I might do some experiments later, but really I'm hoping one of you has experience with such things and can do it yourself or tell me how.

The denominations are sort of odd, but I read an article by a mathematician claiming that these were the ideal numbers for currency in order to make giving change convenient. And I thought "Well, it's more interesting than copying every other country in the world."

These notes were made in conjunction with Yvain Imaginings, Inc. Scott of Hyperborea helped with some symbols, photos, and webspace, and Baron Krasniy of Vorpmadal is working on complimentary coins that I will let him present in his own time.

I love you and these. I'm not sure which more. Either way: :love

Edit: Right... immediate shock of something this awesome has sunk in. Now for real comment.

I particularly love the little demand of Malarbor's. That's genius. Also, I'm glad to see more of that pic of Ari. It's a great one. :)

I'm very excited by the prospect of these being printed out IRL in good quality, but I have no experience in that area so I'll leave it to someone else who knows what they're doing.

Yvain, I wanna marry you, but Krasniy, I want to worship you. :worship

I've been trying for ages to produce or find a coin that looks any good. You have done it. Not only do your coins look any good, they look kick ass. Congratulations.

Ooo, I'm particularly fond of the 29 erb note. (but that may be because my county is on the back)

We need one more absurd way to count money, perhaps... a 'i' or 'e' coin, maybe a 'pi' note...

The Kaiser could decree this as official bank notes...
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki
