ShireRail
This is the thread where updates about the Shirerithian railway system ShireRail are posted. If you have any questions about the railway system in general or ShireRail in particular, don't hesitate to ask.

Will the entire system be high-speed? If not, which lines, if any, will be high-speed?

ShireRail is a standard type railway system. When it is fully developed and operational, the merits of a smaller high-speed network will be investigated.

I am building a high-speed railway network in Cape Farewell. As the county is sparsely populated, distances need to be crossed quickly in order to assist the local communities with their operations. I am wondering what advice Shirerail could give me on building the railway network in Farewell and connecting it to Shirerail, once built?

If you build a high-speed railway network, it will probably not run on the same type of tracks that ShireRail will. My suggestion would then be to allow the citizens of Cape Farewell to switch systems at various hubs around the county. Civitas Nova and Caligae are two obvious hubs. Then later, when ShireRail is fully operational and focus has shifted to a Shirerithian high-speed network, your system could then be incorporated into the larger high-speed network. Keep me updated so we can make sure that those systems match.

If the high-speed rail in Cape Farewell is to have the luxury of choosing its own system, might I suggest the Maglev variant as used by Ashkenatzishen Blitzbahn? Details can be found here. The advantage would be that if a Shirereithan high-speed rail adopted Maglev as well, then there could be compatibility with Ashkenatza's high-speed system once Shireroth develops high-speed rail across all its Benacian territories.

The Shirekeep Times would like to know who is in charge of ShireRail now that Malliki has left Shireroth?

And also I assume Malliki is in charge of the rail system I built for Samudra in Antica, now that he was granted fascist domination-er, control-of that province. :D But after reading this thread, maybe things won't turn out so bad for that aspect of Samudra at least...

I assume that the Minister is in charge of the ShireRail. So that would be... err... there isn't a minister? :fish

Ok. In that case maybe it's Scott. He wrote the latest Malarbor box.

Scott isn't a citizen, so he can't be minister. Consider it under my control for the time being.
