Clarify

Post by Syr William »

Could someone please explain this quote from the wiki a bit more in depth for me?
Ever since the Mortis settled on the isle of Benacia the Count has traditionally been from the Mortis family line
Does this mean that a Count has to be from the Line of Mortis to be Count, or that a Count is usually a Mortis (with the one exception, me)

traditionally means that the tradition (read: what is usually done) is that the Count is a Mortis. But it's not a law or anything.

I think this was just meant to describe how, at the time that was written, Shyriath had been Count of Benacia for a very long time. Shy is of the Line of Mortis, and was Kaiser Mors IV.

You also have to realise that much of the info written on ShireWiki about counties and stuff is from 2004-2005.

Thank God. Not a big fan of the line of Mortis really, no offense to any Mortis'.

Erik's big enough to take it on the chin - and the gods can always have their bloody and disproportionate revenge against the blasphemer later.

You all took that wrong. See, as a High priest of Ikol (Peace) then I can't be a big fan of Death.
Besides, I said no offence, and I'm not bashing on Royal Lines.

I don't fully agree, Lord William. In Soloralist fate, death is connected with life. The stronger life gets, the more likely death is to strike hard, and vise versa.
Life again is connected with knowledge. And this is a force that could be compared with the powers of the Cedrist God Ikol (peace).
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

I am told death is a most peaceful state of mind.

Well a state of rest for the matter that constituted the mind, if not actually restful for the mind. :p
