Please send the address to me at scott.siskind@gmail.com.
However, since it might take a while for stuff to get over from here, please also tell her next time you see her that I feel for her, that I'm missing her here in Shireroth, and that I hope with every fiber of my being that she gets well quickly.

I hope with every fiber of my being that she gets well period. :( :( :(

I'd love to send a card, or something, but for some reason that feels inappropriate. I want nothing less than to visit her, but that's impossible right now. I'm tied down with class and work. With her in the hospital, and then recently Ric being MIA, I feel so lost among the more analytical minds here. I miss her help and her stories. I really hope she gets better. I can't imagine Shireroth without her. :( :( :(

I'm hoping and praying that she sees this thing through. This makes me feel rather stupid - firstly, because I feel sad, but I never even met Carol, I can't imagine how sad those closer to her are now; secondly, it puts into perspective this hobby. Carol is such a wonderful person, and her amazing character doesn't seem to match her physical state. I hope that she'll beat these problems and be able to visit London again one day.

I have PM'ed an idea around to Ari, Andreas, Benkern, Scott, Jacobus, and Oroigawa. I'm sure others would be interested, so please check your inboxes, reply, and share the idea.

This is incredibly distressing. :( I think she was the most level-headed micronationalist I've ever met, and losing her would be a terrible loss not only to the hobby, but to the real world.

She is a wonderful person. Our prayers are with the family.

I lost my mom a little over two years ago to pancreatic cancer. My father-in-law has been in and out of the hospital for a couple of years now, so I empathise.

You guys are great, but it has been so much fun having someone, well, more of a contemporary to visit with.

Renee, your mom is one of the finest people I have encountered in a hobby filled with intelligent, creative, and kind individuals. Although I don't know her nearly as well as some and have never met her in person, she has nevertheless always shown great kindness and friendliness whenever I have spoken with her. She is a lady of great warmth and dignity, and in a way, she is not only your mother, but a surrogate to many of us. My thoughts and those of my friends in Antica are with her and your family, and I hope this situation comes to the best possible end.

Renee,

Your mother is one of the greatest people I have ever met. I think, probably without even realizing it, she has touched many lives...Including mine. I'm a better person for knowing her and through our conversations I've learned about myself, life and faith. I only wish that I had been able to do something for her in return for all the help she has given me...

I wish I had been able to meet her in person...And I wish I could visit her now. I'll never be able to get rid of the feeling that I'm a horrible person. I convinced her to join my nation. She posted there, even when she was sick, because she knew we needed help. I should have made her stop. I knew she needed rest...Gah.

And there are things that you can't tell just anyone but after just a few months of talking to Carol...I was spilling on things I would never tell other people...And she always understood. She was always kind, honest and so much more. It just doesn't seem fair that this is happening now...to such a amazing person.

I will be praying for Carol and I just want you to pass on a simple message, Renee...Tell her Thank you for me. For everything. For putting up with me, for teaching me and for just being there...

Thanks,
Chris

She has been very concerned about some members of Shireroth, who I am sure know who they are. To those people, please, message me.

The fact that Carol in her condition is selfless enough to think about the health of others that she has never met is extremely noble. There is no choice but for her to recover since the world certainly needs her virtue. I've lost friends in Afghanistan that I consider heroes, but the sentiment in the quote above, is singular in my mind. I very sincerely hope Carol gets better. She's a great human being.

I'm sure we'll all be thinking of her. It's times like this that Shireroth becomes such a great community to be part of.
Renee, I won't admit I know Carol well but she seems such a caring and considerate person. Let us all hope she recovers- as I'm sure she will.
I'll be sending a card. A small Mitzvah I know, but the least I can do.

UPDATE

This is a MUCH better update than my last. Thank goodness.

Mom has been getting excellent care at our local hospital, and her surgeons are now pretty much convinced she actually will recover fully. Her wounds have been healing well, and the progression (of necrotic tissue) her first surgeon saw as life-threatening seems to have halted and is being dealt with bit by bit. Since she has healed so much, her pain level is also much lower, and is more manageable. She is feeling much better and has even had the energy to discuss politics when I visit. This is probably one of her favorite topics, and she wasn't up to it the first 3 or 4 weeks of her stay.

Her head surgeon also has said that she is now stable enough to transfer to a specialized wound care facility, which would be great. Unfortunately we do not yet know which of the two bay area ones she might go to, and there are many details still unknown. One is about 30 miles from my parents' home, but the other is about 100 miles away (just north of the Golden Gate bridge), and too far for my dad to visit her daily, as he has been doing.

Anyway, I am thrilled to be able to make this update, and to let you all know of my mom's improvement. All of your good wishes and notes really meant a lot, as did the beautiful flowers. She was very eager to have me post this to let you know how much better she is doing.

Thanks for all of your support.

That's absolutely wonderful news! Tell her we're very pleased to hear this and hope she continues to recover like this until she's fully well again. :yay:
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).
