Ministry of the Exterior Communications & Conduct Policy

Post by Sir Iain de Vembria »

With regards to recent events, the Ministry of the Exterior regrets that it is obliged to introduce the following Communications & Conduct Policy:1. The Ministry of the Exterior will not concern itself with any foreign affairs that are not initially directed to it in its forum.2. The Ministry of the Exterior will not meet with any representatives of foreign nations with regards to actual or potential formal business if they fail to present themselves at the Ministry's forum first.3. The Ministry of the Exterior will view any participation abroad by citizens or government officials in Shirerithian foreign affairs, without the express authorisation of either the Minister of the Exterior, any authorised deputies, or the Kaiser himself, to do so, as bringing the name of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth into disrepute, and will prosecute them accordingly.4. In the event that a new formal relationship is agreed upon, the final documentation for such will be presented to the Landraads for official approval. In the event that such a relationship is to be established by Kaiserial decree instead, the Minister of the Exterior or an authorised Deputy will review and approve or reject the decree before it is published. Any formal relationship agreements that do not follow these procedures will be regarded as being null and void. Amendments to existing agreements only need the additional approval of the Landsraad (or if decreed, of the Minister of the Exterior or an authorised Deputy) if the represent significant new commitments for Shireroth, as opposed to extensions of existing commitments. That is all. While this foreign policy is certainly suitable for a nation that wants to keep its head firmly in the sand, and for a MiniEx that wants to do as little as possible while still remaining firmly in command of his Ministry (nyeh, Iain), I feel that a less isolationist policy is what we need right now for Shireroth to grow. Therefore consider this policy null and void. I should've gotten around to this a while ago. A new policy is currently being written in order to include DiploCorp and to ensure that Shirerithian citizens can be more active in pressing their nation's suit abroad. Besides, I'm not uptight enough to actually prosecture anyone Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages
