Kaiser Titles of Semisa I and Yarad I

Post by Bill3000 »

Allright. To have some filler, and put our new

Nomination period starts now. People will have the ability to choose titles, and second titles as well. Titles that have been successfully nominated and seconded can be voted on (one title per Kaiser - no priority system here.) Nomination period is bascially in place of the debate period, and listed as usual. It is possible to have more than one Kaiser at a time for a Kaiser Title period, so let's do the two most recent fro now.

I don't have a reccomendation for Yarad at this time, but for Semisa I, I nominate "The Ressurector". Later on, I will list the titles that have been successfully nominated here.

I second "the Resurrector" for Semisa I. It seems very appropriate, considering the "unusual" attempts at a succession. :)

I third "The Resurrector" for Semisa. As for Yarad... I dunno, I don't like the sound of 'Yarad the Metal'. There's got to be a word that can capture what "metal" is meant to invoke.

How about Yarad "The Resolute"?

I'm not sure how much I like the Landsraad doing this. If anything this should just be a genearl cultural thing.. and NOT dictated by legislature. And it makes it seem like the Landsraad feels it is above the Kaiser.

I don't see how this makes the Landsraad feel that it is above the Kaiser. the last couple of Kaisers did not give themselves (and did not want to) titles, and frankly, it should not be the will of a passing Kaiser to give himself a title - that's not how it works in real life. Given the fact that you can't possibly have a way of having a national way of granting titles the way Shireroth is, and given our feudalistic system, it's better for the Landsraad to give titles than no formal way of producing titles.

Most importantly, it gives the Landsraad something to do when it isn't as productive as it should be. It's better to have the Landsraad do something than nothing at all and die again. Oh, and Shirerothian Common Law sucks, because it's quickly forgotten. It's better to have a written procedure than go through precedent.

I agree with Bill on the "giving the Landsraad something to do" thing.

Cromsfist also votes in favour of the titles "the Resurrector" and "the Resolute" (7).

I don't think it should be viewed in that sort of light. If the Landsraad were trying to assert itself over the Kaiser, there would be much better ways of doing it; instead, think of this as a form of homage. In granting an appended title in this fashion, the Landsraad is indicating its respect for the past Kaiser's qualities.

Besides which, this is something that can be vetoed or superceded, just like any other act of the Landsraad... even if, against all probability, the Landsraad approved a negative-themed title, the current Kaiser could strike it down.

I would suggest to the members of the Landsraad, though, that if a past Kaiser has a particular request for how zie would like to be remembered, that zir wishes be taken into serious consideration.

Because of my own laziness lately, I am extending the voting period of this full nomination period to six days. Once again, I apologize for notifying sooner.

The nomination period was over on the 12th. Vote will now end on the 18th.

Antya votes for Semisa the Resurrector and Yarad the Resolute. (5)

I'd like to point out that this isn't a YEA/NAY vote, this is voting for particular titles for each Kaiser. :no

Gah. Is there a legal way to extend this or restart the voting period or something?

From my reading of this, the titles "the Resurrector" and "the Resolute" were passed.

I'm extremely dissapointed that no on except myself followed the voting format. There is no "YEA/AYE" or "NAY" vote, you're voting for individual titles, and abstains are kind of worthless here, but whatever.

Semisa the Resurrector passes 5-0-5, and Yarad the Resolute passes 5-0-5.
