Permission to create a new Subdivision

Post by Kaiser Ometeotl I »

So, I want to create a new subdivision, at this time without land. Once we get the Elwynn treaty hammered out I'll likely use some of that land with some Goldshire.

It'll be a new subdivision that won't just be a knock off of any older ones.

I just figured since we're only gonna really get maybe 3-5 total in the end, and here I am asking for one, I might as well get some support for it. I don't just want to convert Brookshire, since people already reside there.

Think Steampunk.. and that's all I'm saying. :)

So, can I make a new subdivision?

I haven't gotten that far. I just wanted a vague OKEY from others before I embarked on a project to create a new Duchy, and abandon Brookshire.

I'm basing it on Autochthonia in Exalted.

I've pondered stealing the name Autochton. And even went as bland as Eastern Benacia. :)

But if I can get a few people to sign off the OKEy, then I can start work on it, and see who'll join.

I've wanted to see steampunk around ever since Ryan brought it up, so as far as I'm concerned, HELL AYE.

You're welcome to join me. I don't plan to promote the use of counties. I want most development to be done on the upper level, and in one forum. Otherwise people become to fixated on their county. (and there will be no nobles).

If you can get some citizens, then go for it!

EDIT: Though I'd be happier with three subdivisions than five until we have some more citizens.

Then maybe I'll just convert Brookshire into it.

So.. We'de need to merge all our eastern lands into 2 subdivisions. We could leave some land unassociated for future development.

Why not? Do I hear any Brookshire super-patriots screaming no?

(Holds hand to his ear)

All gone away, eh?

Go for it.

I've made a temporary forum. I can always toss it aside into the archives if I get no bites.

I'm having some trouble fleshing out the culture. I'm trying to blend to much maybe.

Well, see what others start contributing. You don't want to do it all on your own ;)

I'm almost thinking go ahead and merge it into Brookshire. I do still want to do stuff with Benacia/Sunderspray, but this would allow a wider context and a new direction for that.

Brookshire has always been, in my mind, the sort of archetypical rural/feudal part of Shireroth. The social changes that would come with sudden technological advancement could provide some interesting material to work with.

And Kildare is now the representation of the traditional feudal governance. Right. I'll move sunder spray.

The isolated Kildari on the Kildarian mainland will be surprised to hear that there has changed so much in the last 264 years. I have to send a messenger to the local nobles! :D

You have my vague support. ;)
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki
