TREATY WITH THE VIKING EMPIRE (TREATY OF SULA SGEIR)

THE ANCIENT STATES IMPERIAL OF THE IMPERIAL REPUBLIC OF SHIREROTH AND THE VIKING EMPIRE OF STORMARK:

BUILDING upon the treaties between them, the first, which began their ever-lasting friendship, of 2 Agnifiero 1712/23 Bilskirnir 3, and the second, the Mango-Longships Treaty;

EXPESSING the genuine wish for extending and strengthening their bilateral relations of friendship, happiness and respect;

have therefore moved to conclude the present Treaty and have appointed as their plenipotentiaries, for THE IMPERIAL REPUBLIC OF SHIREROTH, His Highness, Daniel, the Duke Kalirion of Cape Farewell, the Imperial Steward of Shireroth, and for THE VIKING EMPIRE OF STORMARK, His Royal Highness Galinn Kárisson, the Earl of Leirvík, the Imperial Chancellor of Stormark, who, having extended to each other their powers and credentials, have agreed to the following articles of agreement:

First Article
Objective of the Treaty

I. The state of relations between the Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark shall be based on peace, friendship and good neighbourliness between them and their peoples.

II. The objective of the present Treaty shall be to extend and strengthen relations between the Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark, in particular by promoting understanding between their peoples and by developing cooperation on matters of mutual interest.

Second Article
Mutual Cooperation

I. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark, recognizing the importance of peaceful and friendly relations among all states of the community of civilized nations, shall cooperate with one and another in maintaining and strengthening such relations.

II. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark agree to pursue understanding and diplomacy in all international matters of mutual interest, avoiding the use or threat of force as a valid diplomatic manoeuvre between them.

III. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark shall endeavour to facilitate, strengthen and diversify mutual understanding and cooperation in such areas of mutual interest in the political, economic, legal, social, cartographic, cultural, professional, sporting and environmental fields.

IV. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark shall make available resources for political and educational strategies to counter the negative effects of fascism, paplism, bigotry, militarism and other evils of that plague the world.

V. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark shall undertake to strengthen their free institutions and to cooperate with each other in the development of economic progress and social well-being and to further their individual and collective efforts toward these ends.

VI. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark shall collaborate closely with each other in developing the mutual cooperation with each other. To this end, they shall hold consultations with each other, whenever felt necessary by either the Imperial Republic of Shireroth or the Viking Empire of Stormark, on matters in the fields referred to in the paragraphs this article, making use, where appropriate, of the means provided for in existing agreements or arrangements. They shall contribute toward the further development of peaceful and friendly international relations by strengthening their free institutions, by bringing about a better understanding upon which these institutions are founded, and by promoting conditions of stability and well-being. They shall seek to eliminate conflict in their international policies and encourage collaboration between both parties.

Fourth Article
Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity, Independence

The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark agree for the purposes of bilateral relations that the sovereign territory of States shall include the territory as depicted on the official map produced by the Council of the Micronational Cartography Society, websites, message boards, mailing lists and other virtual property under direct or indirect control of respective governments, as proclaimed by them as national jurisdiction and as long as respecting others States\\\' sovereignty under micronational law and micronational convention. At the invitation of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth or the Viking Empire of Stormark, the parties to this Treaty shall hold consultations whenever there are reasonable grounds for the belief that the territorial integrity, independence, or security of any one of the parties is threatened.

Fifth Article
Conspiracies and Papelism

The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark bind themselves, in foreign and internal affairs, to
(1) never facilitate or allow within its borders to be prepared, sponsored or in any way supported rebellions, coups d\\\'état and international conspiracies against the other High Contracting Party, and;

(2) reprehend and abolish promptly the practice of paper dolls or paplism, in any circumstances except for publicly registered, within the national territory, informing the other High Contracting Party of suspected, revealed and convicted paplists.

Sixth Article
Diplomatic Relations

I. The Kaiser of Shireroth, their Steward, the Minister for the Exterior of the said Imperial Republic and the Shirerithian ambassador before the Viking Empire of Stormark shall enjoy full sovereign immunity whilst within the jurisdiction of the Viking Empire of Stormark excepting of course those with Stormarkian nationality.

II. The Sovereign Viking Emperor of Stormark, the Imperial Chancellor of the said Viking Empire, the Lord or Lady Warden of Stormark to the Outland and the Stormark ambassador before the Imperial Republic of Shireroth shall enjoy full sovereign immunity whilst within the jurisdiction of the Imperial Republic of Stormark, excepting of course those with Shirerithian nationality.

III. Upon the ratifying this Treaty, there shall be established in the Viking Empire of Stormark an Embassy of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, which shall be occupied by an Ambassador accredited by the Kaiser of Shireroth and received by the Sovereign Viking Emperor of Stormark.

IV. Upon the ratifying this Treaty, there shall be established in the Imperial Republic of Shireroth an Embassy of the Viking Empire of Stormark, which shall be occupied by an Ambassador accredited by the Sovereign Viking Emperor of Stormark and received by the Kaiser of Shireroth.

V. There shall be appointed an Ambassador to act as representative of a High Contracting Party in the other. The Ambassadors shall have full citizenship of the High Contracting Party of origin and shall have proper credentials approved by competent diplomatic or immigration authorities to be considered empowered.

VI. Each High Contracting Party may demand immediate removal of the Ambassador, at any time since arrival and without notice.

VII. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark declare their assent to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and their affirmation to abide by all and sundry the applicable provisions of the same. Applicable provisions shall be considered all that are not obviously absurd within micronationalism.

Seventh Article
Validity of Existing Agreements

Nothing in the present Treaty shall affect the validity of agreements which are in force between the Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark at the date of signature of the present Treaty.

Eighth Article
Final provisions

I. The Imperial Republic of Shireroth and the Viking Empire of Stormark shall periodically review, at the departmental level, the general operation of the present Treaty with a view to ensuring that the purposes of the present Treaty are being fully realized.

II. This Treaty shall last indefinitely.


IN WITNESS THEREOF the above-named Plenipotentiaries have signed the present Treaty.
