I live In Charlotte, North Carolina myself. A word of warning that's probably too late: Don't move here if you enjoy a nightlife. *shakes head* This city dies after 8pm. It's sad really.

I will be far away from Charlotte (at least far enough away not to visit on weekends lol). But I have been there before. When considering a college, I was offered a full ride to Belmont Abbey, which is just outside of Charlotte. Went and visited - beautiful campus and all, and small (which if I wasnt going to Texas A&M I wanted something small)...but the monks kinda worried me...

I've never heard of Belmont Abbey, but the fact they have monks there is proly the reason I haven't heard of it.

But good luck with the moving! You know, my friend's family moved from L.A. and when they saw the downtown area, they laughed that it was called downtown. Honestly. Smallest big city EVER. Screw Reno.

Belmont Abbey is in Belmont, NC which is kinda just outside Charlotte. At least it only took a few mins to get there. (the college is right off the highway even)

Anyway - thanks everyone for the encouragement. I hate moving, and a trip this long is bound to wear me down quite a bit. But once I get there, my life will dramatically improve - and that's a good thing.
