Levy the Tax for May.

Post by Erik Mortis »

I know we got only 48 hours till the month ends but. We should levy the land tax for the month of May. It won't generate much money.

According to the Grand Land Listing this tax would generate 525€. A pittance really. Though I think the Kaiser needs to update that list for changes made since he took the throne.

Aye would levy the Tax.
Nay would not levy the Tax.

The Imperial Treasury has 19,700€ at the moment. So this would simply keep it topped off.

Now we're there again with the pronouns...

The holdings will be changed within a day and this will probably not pass within that time period, therefore I suggest that you put this bill on hold.

I'm happy to vote AYE now.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Well.. We can just pass this one for may, then pass another one for June that would count those changes. No point taxing land that had not been granted yet.

You do as you please. To avoid issue you could include the date in the bill, i.e. counties granted at this and that date.

Nay.

The Crown holds the vast majority of the land, why should we minor landholders pay the bills?

Yes, I can do math. Just stirring the pot.

We don't need pot stirring, we need economic sensibility.

If we don't levy a tax now and again, here any there to keep the treasury afloat, it'll go to nothing really quick and we'll have to do a really big tax again, like I did last time. You remember how that went. Nearly had a civil war over it. If I had not done that huge tax we would be empty right now. So, small tax now and again.. or huge tax? Tax everyone? Or tax those that have claimed the right to lands. The other side of having government spending, is having government earning.

I'll let it stand, as it's probably inconsequential and he voted before he was relieved of his vote anyhow.

This bill is Tied. 2-2.

Since there doesn't seem to be a provision for the Praetor to break ties anymore, a provision we need to put back in, this vote stalls with no clear majority. To the Archive with it!
