Since we are doing this election style.. (been a long time since the Landsraad did this.. ) I'd like to actually get the nominees to say what they'll do with the job. What projects they'll request, what funds they'll need from the Landsraad (more = better). etc..

Are we doing this election style? I thought I saw that the Kaiser was going to appoint the minister?

So yes Malliki

I can tell you right now your not getting any plans from Cho'Gall so waiting for him would be useless. That can of course impact your vote. :document

Why would I update it when I was no longer voting? I'm not duke either. New people could handle it.

Actually this post is mostly a test to see if I can still post here. I shouldn't be able to.

Since when did we switch to a 1:1 vote system for minister elections? Shouldn't it still be 10 Votes - 1 Duke?

We haven't. The Dukes are free to cast their votes as they wish. It just so happens that each Duke has kept their 10 votes. If they wish to split their votes between candidates they are more then welcome.

I think all votes must be cast as a block. (if not we need to add that back in). So I can't give 5 votes to one candidate and 5 to the other.

Anyways. I'm kinda hesitant to vote for either. Payne was gone until just recently, and Cho'Gall I think is in a similar boat. Also, I haven't heard anything from EITHER candidate on what the will do if they get the job.

Goldenbrook None Of the Above (not abstain!) (10), until we get some more info from those up for election.

This is what I want to implement as the MiniImNat:
  • A program that would be set up that consists of volunteers who keep up with a list of current, active and inactive citizens, and the last time that the citizen posted, so we would know who was truly active. We would use the last census records and all accepted citizenship applications and keep track of those people. The list would be public, and would have three categories: Active, Inactive, and LOA. After a certain number of days(9-10) without posting, a person would be put on the Inactive list, unless they have announced a LOA.
  • I would encourage, but not force, new citizens to settle in duchies who do not have many citizens. They would be rewarded an extra 500 :erb if they do so.
  • Make it the responsibility of the Big Brother Census Department to go to each individual duchy and conduct a census every 2-3 months, maybe more. I would also make sure that we do the national census with consistency.
If there is anything else that someone would like to suggest, then please say so. This list is definately not set in stone.

That's fine, but you only have until 3858 to cast your vote. If by that time you have not done so it will simply be recorded as ABSTAIN.

EDIT: Not that I need to tell you really...

It will NOT be recorded as Abstain. I am NOT abstaining. I am voting for Neither or them. I am voting that I support neither candidate and that another will have to be found. I am not simply choosing not to take a stance. I am taking the stance that at this time I think neither should be appointed.

I will likely cast a vote in the next day or so, but I wish to hear from Cho'gall.

Dictionary wrote:Abstain [verb] : To formally decline to vote either for or against a proposal or motion.
Doesn't that mean that if a vote hasn't been cast when a Bill closes that they have chosen to vote neither for nor against? I was planning on recording those who don't vote as ABSTAIN. I mean, I understand your position, but we can't change the election halfway through (without Kaiser intervention in any case.)

Generally speaking, in all elections or other votes with a list of options, "none of the above" is a valid vote very different from abstain. If abstains get a majority, nothing happens (except in Antica, laawwl) but if none of the aboves do, that means that you have to find new candidates or somehow otherwise fix some sort of problem with the choices.

But again I'm mainly testing if I still have permissions to post here and abusing them if I do.

Elwynn votes for Cho'gall

My plan for the post of Minister of Immigration and Naturalization consists of two comprehensive halves.
MiniImNat Agenda wrote:Immigration
  • • Promote equal distribution of citizens upon arrival.
    • Implementation of an incentive system. Read: "lump-sum" subsidiaries, or titles (will require duke collaboration).
    • Continue the work of the Big Brother Census.
    • Designing a system that would aim to track (on a bi-monthly basis) citizen activity.
Naturalization
  • • Create the"Office of Integration" where new citizens, or citizens who are changing residence, may benefit from synopsis, images, and other help. (Each Duchy will have one topic dedicated to it)
    • Oversee the hire, on commission, a citizen of each Duchy to do comprehensive compilations of the local history, tradition, and other relevant informations.
    •Update the "getting started guide".

Hmm. I'm still concerned about the activity levels and risk of disappearance for both candidates. However, Goldenbrook will support Cho'Gall at this time.

Goldenbrook, Cho'Gall.
