This statement disturbs me greatly. Every legal system I am aware of, the goal is to come to a settlement between the parties, not prosecute people. A court case is a last step in trying to find a solution between the parties after all other attempts at negotiations have failed. This is especially true in civil matters such as this one. The defendant, upon first hearing of this matter, asks the other side if they are sure that they have not made a mistake, and the judge replies by telling him to shut up and enter a plea. Corey hasn't even said he is unwilling to simply pay the 2 and have the matter settled. He's too busy being rushed off for court day to talk to the other party!
I know you're all so ready and willing to prove how fast the courts can go and how well all your procedures work and all that, but I feel that an important step is being skipped out of haste.
