Titles

Post by Allot »

I think that the Judex system of titling officials is a bit obscure. Please tell me if I am incorrect.

First, what do we call judges that aren't Mike Fors? Arbiters?
If so, does the position that Mike Fors holds have a special title? High Arbiter?
(and if so, why does it say that the moderator of this forum is Mike Fors as Imperial Judex?)

Or, is the system that there are only two judges in the entirety of Shireroth (excluding the Dukes and the Kaiser) who are referred to as the Arbiter and the Assistant Arbiter? Is that how it works?

I am mightily confused. :confused

My formal title is Arbiter of the Imperial Judex. There is also an Assistant Arbiter, though the office is currently vacant. There are no other judges in Shireroth at this time and the law would have to be amended to allow for that. Not that we need more judges.

The Judex is the name for the entire court system from the Imperial Arbiter down to the nobles who can take on the role of judge.
