Erital Paha Rhase Muithyan [PIC]

Post by Scott of Hyperborea »

The Erital Paha Rhase Muithyan, in English Queen of Night's Repentant Children is, along with its sister ship Melgalthanal Main Kosunde the pride and joy of the Hyperborean military. A thousand and a half years old and hewn of solid ice, the ship is unsinkable simply because ice floats. In wartime, use, enemy action, and the need for stealth wears it down into a shape something like a normal iceberg, but in peacetime, especially the centuries of peace Hyperborea has been enjoying recently, it becomes a floating city, symbol, and art project.

The ship is generally pentagonal in shape, with a second pentagonal terrace in the center. From the terrace rises a central observation tower, surrounded by an entire town of buildings hewn from the ice and topped with colorful domes. From the central pentagon, five long spurs radiate, each of which is a take-off and landing strip for the aircraft stored within the central terrace. The lower terrace of the ship is mostly unoccupied on the surface. Every year, during the annual festival celebrating the ship in its home home port in Taesar, artists and schoolchildren come aboard and help inscribe the unused lower portion it with beautiful, intricate designs. Some also help in the building and rebuilding of the central town, Tiel Rhase Muithion, which by now looks genuinely otherworldly and is a popular tourist attraction during peacetime.

Each of the five sides of the ship are inscribed with its name, Erital Paha Rhase Muithyan, a rose-star mandala, and the words Kai Raikoth Amphi, meaning "Kai Raikoth Military Forces"."

The ship spends its summers in Taesar, but during sufficiently cold winters, it tours the coasts of Cimmeria, Elwynn, Amokolia, and Goldshire as a "goodwill ambassador" and symbol of Hyperborean culture. Shirerithian and foreign schoolchildren studying the Hyperborean language or culture sometimes spend a winter on board the ship. Despite these civilian roles, it's constantly kept combat-ready, and foreigners who have only seen its more cuddly side may get a nasty surprise when they meet it head-on.

Cool. Not very fast, I take it?
What follows has lead me to this place where I belong, with all erased.
