Some economic ideas

Post by Philip Locke »

1. Perhaps we 'Boreans should hold our money communally, rather than in individual bank accounts. Or, we could maintain individual accounts as well as a ducal (communal) one, to which we pledge to give a large part of our earnings. This, with various light taxes, will give us a sizable monetary base for any future operations.2. Tax Elwynn (both the subdivision as a whole and the Baron himself). 3. We should have no business tax, and publicize this point well. However, we should mandate that one who runs a business from Hyperborea must also be a citizen. 4. Have a light "living tax" for those who dwell in Taras, Volsaarn, and the rest of Hyperborea prime.

Quote:3. We should have no business tax, and publicize this point well. However, we should mandate that one who runs a business from Hyperborea must also be a citizen. This is quite a good idea for later on, when hopefully the economy will be important enough to recruit people based solely on the fact that we have no business tax. I think that tax is usually a thorny issue, but if we use Volak's idea, and merely split our wages between the two accounts, our own personal one, and the wider ducal one, then we should circumvent the issue pretty handily.
