Decree #29 - Territories and Votes of the Duchy

Post by Harvey Steffke »

Goldshire will continue to use the traditional naming method of our fiefs, with a barony being a subdivision under the duchy at large and a country being a subdivision of a barony. The titles of baron and count shall remain in effect, as well. Barons and counts may use any reasonable naming system for their subdivisions that they wish, provided it does not violate Imperial Law and subject to Ducal override.

Further, the following Landsraad speaking privileges and votes are granted to the Barons of Goldshire:

Baron Santelran Rottsaa of Ynnraile: 3 (three) votes
Baron Aryeztur Mejorkhor of Khorze: 2 (two) votes

Each month, give or take, each baron will be reviewed several factors including general national activity, advancement of the Duchy, and agreement of purpose. Satisfactory performance will merit a retention of votes and privileges. Exemplary performance may merit an additional vote being given. Wholly unsatisfactory performance may involve a vote being taken away. These performance reviews will be conducted solely by the Duke of Goldshire with no outside body of Shireroth's government being given a say. Barons are allowed to object to the Duke's decisions regarding a performance review if they believe they are being treated unfairly, but ultimately the word of the Duke is final.

By my hand,
Harvey Lekuan
Duke of Goldshire

Lord Duke, may I ask why my Barony gets 2 votes and not 3? Although I'm pretty much certain its because of my activity level which isn't as good as it ought to be. Or perhaps because I'm still fairly new in the picking order here.

More so the former than the latter. I just haven't seen you around that much lately.

Yes, sorry about that. I'll try to be around more, but I can't guarantee anything for a couple more weeks. The next weeks are the end of semester- with papers and finals and all that stuff.

Because, my duke. The way you do decrees prohibits comment, lest I want to make my own thread on the issue. And I didn't want to.

Ah, I know. Sorry. I just wanted to keep the clutter out of the decree thread.
