Flag Change Bill 3963

Be it enacted by the Landsraad of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth

1. Section VII, A, 3, a of the LawBook shall be amended to read:

"a. The national flag of Shireroth is a cross of green and brown intersecting a saltire of red and yellow with a white square-like shape in the center upon a blue field, like so."

2. Section VII, A, 3, b of the LawBook shall be repealed.

This changes our national flag into this:



I ask that this bill be processed under section C, 2 of the Landsraad Procedures, stating:

"2. A majority of those citizens present and voting at the Landsraad Front Gate may vote to introduce a bill or resolution in the Landsraad. The Landsraad must then consider the bill or resolution. No Landsraad member may participate in this vote."

I will not interfere with the will of the Landsraad and the Front Gate in this matter one way or the other. If it passes the Landsraad, I will decree it into law.

I note with interest that the law cited by Minister Tosha bars members of the Landsraad from this vote. I leave it to the Praetor to decide how to interpret and enforce that restriction.

But I'm not really kind to get the flag changed, so why should I vote for a vote to do a vote for a flag?

Of the modernisations of the old flag I preferred the one I borrowed to form a part of my signature. That said I've all but accept that a certain segment of the community won't "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHUT UP" until the flag issue is resolved in favour of some toned down variant of the old flag as proposed above.

I still think this debate ought to happen at a later time. I'm happy that this effort was felt to be worth introducing to the Landsraad, but right now?
