Leo coughed, clearing his throat of the accumulated dust that had been thrown into the air by impatient cars flying by. He looked quite ridiculous in his leather britches and woven shirt that was three sizes to large — not to mention his jaw that hung seemingly frozen several feet lower then where it should have biologically been possible. Several passers-by gave him strange looks but none dwelled on the sight for too long. They had grow accustom to the seemingly deliberate disregard for narrative causality which led to the strange mixing of time periods.
Hanging in his right hand, which was hung just as limply as his jaw, was clutched a single sheet of paper which boasted in block letters:
He gaped in wonder for several more minutes until a stray fly found its way into Leo's gaping mouth. Startled he proceeded to do a little jig of disgust which earned a few more sidelong glances.The scrap of paper wrote: Praetor needed!

Once he had recovered from the unpleasant experience, the boy rummaged in his back pocket and pulled out a tattered napkin with the words "MaP OF ShIREKeeP" scrawled on a corner in what was unmistakably red lipstick. Now if he could figure out which way was up on the damn thing!
