Recent discussions in Darwin Hall of JM3U have led me to believe that a long-lasting peace will be settled by the affirmation of the following accord by all the Dukes of Shireroth and the High Priest of Bacchus.

An Accord Between the High Priest of Bacchus and the Dukes of Shireroth

I. The Dukes of Shireroth will not persecute members of the Bacchic Cult for their religious practices, nor will they limit their actions or allow those under their vassalage to do the same.

II. The High Priest of Bacchus will limit his activity related to the Cult to one thread per Duchy with the exception of the Duchy of Yardistan:
i. In Brookshire, the "The Maenads meet the Lunatics" thread;
ii. In Elwynn, the "Illumination in Illumination" thread;
iii. In Kildare, the "The great dance continues" thread;
iv. And in Straylight, a thread yet to be established.

III. If any Duke breaches the terms of this accord, it will be deemed void only in zir own Duchy.

IV. If the High Priest of Bacchus breaches the terms of this accord, it will be deemed void universally.

What say you all?

My dear Khan, the Bacchus cultists offer a readily exploitable segment of the population, from food tasters to cannon fodder to dangerous grunt labor. They will serve well in medical experiments, thus saving Leo's sheep and other beloved/and/or tasty animals.

The more cognizant ones can be sold any variety of shoddy goods, and a third of the way into debauche can be relied on as ready customers for the inferior vintages.

I just can't be bothered to write out individual ones for each Duchy, it's as simple as that.

And I have been wondering at how Straylight would respond... but I haven't concluded it best to dive in just yet. Not sure if the Maenads can swim et cetera.

Imperial Decree #19, laid down by the lovely Kaiseress Viviantia I, guarantees religious freedom to some extent. It has never been repealed, as far as I know. I do not presume to tell the Dukes how to administer their Duchies, but as far as I am concerned, that is the law the Imperial government will follow.

That's an interesting and pleasing development, thank you for telling us all. Of course I would still like to see this accord signed by all the Dukes of Shireroth because firstly I think the whole one-thread restriction will be pleasing to them and secondly it will elevate the Bacchic Cult to a new level of national recognition.

The Barony of Atterock is not interested in the new religion, and even if the Duke's decide religious freedom is tolerated, the prohibition will continue. Antya can have them if they want.
