Opposition to the new tax law.

Post by Kaiser Agni I »

I have like 6000 or so Erb. I've been collecting it for some time now. If I had something to spend it on, I would. Now with the new tax I will inevitably loose it all. So... what was the point of me doing ANY of the work I have done.. or will do. If it'll all just get taken from me. Without something to spend on my money is useless. But having it simply taken from me makes it even more worthless.

Now, anytime I hit 1000erb I might as well stop doing anything that earns me money.

That's the main problem with the entire Shirithian economy, and (possibly) the sole reason why the economy is stagnant at the moment. We (and by we, I mean Andreas) have been trying to solve this through guilds and the South End Business District, but the problem is that not everyone thinks like you, and unless they HAVE to spend money (or see something they really want), they won't spend.

:erb is really only useful when you're participating in SCIRA or when you have the occasional job for Ari.

Without forcing people to RP, we really don't have many options.

Therefore we have to try to invent goods and services that people will want. Otherwise we might as well not even have an economy.

Well, I have 2 solutions to my issue. 1. I'm Kaiser, you can't tax me! :kaiser 2. I'll just spend all but 999 of my erb on troops and go take over some counties...

Except the clause to forcibly take people over ended ... about today. Still, you can always accumulate troops for wars in general.

Erik, I understand your plight but you are exactly the sort of reason the tax was put in. So now you think "Hmm, I better spend it." If you have nothing better to do with it, you could always buy financial stuff (and hope to sell them back later and thus retain your wealth). Or you can find something you would like to spend it on. Or you tell us what you'd want to spend it on and we create a shop quickly to make us rich. If you were saving for something in particular, I'd be happy to have you tax exempt, but since you're saving because you don't have anything to spend ... that's exactly the reason the tax is there.

You are Kaiser, so you can pass a decree saying the Kaiser isn't taxed. But I'd suggest you look at what you can spend on first.

Visit both the SCIRA forum under MiniTrade and the South End Business District.

I agree with Andreas, but I also believe that we as Shirithians (and in particular the government) should be inventing new ways to spend money.

NOTE: Andreas (and others) have already done a lot. We need to continue down that path.

Land troops - Lamifo (Mike)
Naval troops - Microton (Austi)
Magic troops - me
Medieval troops - Allot
Futuristic - Prodigy I think
For Air/18th Century, just minitrade.

And with the new amendment coming through, each erb buys 5 points worth of units.

LOL - are you considering doing things and getting paid for it here in Shireroth?; that there might come a time whenou want to stop getting paid? You know you can do things and refuse payment (for those who want to do things but not be part of the economy).

i have to agree with oppostion, after viewing three different economies, as of now, i dont think it would work very well here, unless other changes are made, even on Novatainia its a little harsh right now because the stupid "Teller" is down (but i think that was put on hold, was it not, andreas?)

Taxes are indeed on hold, as are payments and anything else.

and since ive heard nothing from bayen period (as if hes quit micronationalism even) i think novatainia should work together with Shireroth to organize a single working economy between the two

We'll wait and see what Toketi does with the demilitarisation act. But more interaction would certainly be good.

EDIT: Of course, if there was interest from Toketi too, and people were willing for SCIRA to be majorly overhauled in favour of CITRA ....

EDIT EDIT: Could also fix our tax problem, as long as people did spend on CITRA, with the land-income thing.
