Ducal Decree VII : Løgting of Froylan

Ducal Decree VII

To all persons, both Noble and Common to whom these Presents shall come, Gre] it is Our Ducal Wish and Desire to create a Law Thing within Our Most Magnificent Duchy of Froyalan;

AND WHEREAS We require the valuable Advice and Counsel of Our Counts as We attend to the governing of Our Most Magnificent Duchy of Froyalan;

LET IT THEREFORE BE KNOWN that We, Harald of Ettlingar Freyu, Duke of Froyalan, Count of Wintergleam, do by this Our Ducal Instrument, in the exercise of Our Most Ancient Prerogative Ducal, decree that:

Ein. Upon the coming into operation of this Our Ducal Instrument the Løgting of Froylan, hereafter to be referred to as the Løgting, shall be created and established within Our Most Magnificent Duchy of Froyalan. The Løgting shall be invested, through Our Good Grace, with legislative powers within the whole of Our Most Magnificent Duchy of Froyalan, second only to those possessed by Us.

Tveir. The Løgting may not take any action that violates, contradicts or is inconsistent with Ducal Law. Neither the Løgting, nor any body it creates, shall have authority or jurisdiction over Us or Ducal Law. All law set down by the Løgting shall be recorded in the Law Archive.

Thrír. We shall have the power to, at any time, call the Løgting to session, dismiss the Løgting from session as well as recall the Løgting to session. The Løgting may dismiss itself from Session at any time.

Fjórir. The Løgting shall consist of the Counts of Froyalan. Only Counts of Froyalan may speak and/or vote within the Løgting. Each Count of Froyalan shall have one vote in the Løgting.

Fimm. We shall, as Løgmaður, preside over the Løgting. The purpose and duty of the Løgmaður shall be to call a meeting of the Løgting to order, tally votes, close votes, generally manage, and keep order within the Løgting; as well as keep records of all bills and resolutions passny bill, act, measure, dictate, statement or order passed, issued by, or put before the Løgting may be vetoed by the Løgmaður for any reason, at any time.

Sétt. This Our Ducal Instrument shall come into effect immediately.
